About Attack on Titan

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a colossal titan that appears out of thin air. As the smaller titans flood the city, the two of them watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single titan and take revenge for all of mankind. Petra Ral Profile

Petra is a veteran member of the Scouting Legion, and is one of the hand-chosen members of the elite Special Operations Squad under Lance Corporal Levi. She looks up to Levi as a captain and cares strongly for her team, though notably at odds with Auruo. Petra is kind and caring, as shown when she looks after and guides Eren when he is first admitted to the squad and seems to have acted as some sort of attachment figure for Eren among Levis Squad as she is the one shown to worry most about him as well as wishing he would rely and trust her and the others, and it is ultimately her who had managed Eren to do so. He views Saitama as his eternal rival. Appearance: Sonic is a thin, slightly effeminate man, who despite his slender build is extremelly strong and fast. He has black medium length hair that is tied up in a topknot. One noticable feature is that he has two black marks under his eyes, one under each. He first appears wearing a tight black outfit highlighted by metal plating on the shins, fore-arms, shoulders and chest, as well as a long red scarf. He is shown later in black street clothes. He always carries a ninjato and other ninja equipment such as kunai and ninja stars. Personality: Sonic is a villian who, despite his normally calm appearance, loves fighting strong opponents as shown by when he gets a "child-like smile" on his face when he first meets Saitama and has two of his attacks blocked, earlier calling this his "bad habit." He is always aiming to become stronger and fights for justice. As a registered Superhero, he is in the S-Class ranking at 16. Genos has a mechanical body of a teenage model, a pale looking face, yellow eyebrows, black sclera and yellow piercing eyes and has blond spiky hair. Over his mechanical limbs, he wears black pants and black shoes. Genos sometimes sports new black mechanical arms, during the time when he sparred with Saitama, and during the time on preparing to stop a giant meteor, he equipped more block-shaped, black mechanical arms along with a small headgear. Having apparently trained himself to superhuman condition, Saitama faces an existential crisis as he is now too powerful to gain any thrill from his heroic deeds. He is registered with the Heroes Association as a C-Class Superhero and is tasked to defend Z-City against Mysterious Beings. Saitama is usually deliberately drawn in a simpler style than other characters, with a very rounded head and only a simple mouth and eyes. When drawn in a more 'action-oriented' style with more detail, Saitama is revealed to have sharp features, dangerous looking eyes, and chiseled musculature. His costume is a plain yellow jumpsuit with a short zipper at the collar and a belt. The costume is finished out by a red ensemble of boots, gloves and a cape. For a superhero, Saitama is rather laid back. Because even the mightiest foes pose no challenge to him, he doesn't take his hero work very seriously. In spite of this, he is constantly searching for an opponent that can challenge him, since his superhero work is beginning to bore him because it's too easy. The combination of his attitude, unstoppable strength, and distinctively simple and 'unimpresive' appearance often cause his battles to become anticlimactic. Saitama will usually allow his opponents to rant about their motives and power up into their strongest forms before suddenly and nonchalantly obliterating them with one punch. Appearance: Tornado appears to be a rather small thin woman with short, curly, green hair. She wears a long dress that seperates into 6 sections a little below the waist. She usually has an expressionless face, with partially closed eyes. Abilities: Tornado is shown to be a very powerful telekinetic. She is capable of effortlessly lifting hundreds of large boulders and stopping a very powerful bombardment attack from an alien spaceship. She also uses her telekinesis to float and fly. About Fullmetal Alchemist

The rules of alchemy state that to gain something, one must lose something of equal value. Alchemy is the process of taking apart and reconstructing an object into a different entity, with the rules of alchemy to govern this procedure. However, there exists an object that can bring any alchemist above these rules, the object known as the Philosopher's Stone. The young Edward Elric is a particularly talented alchemist who through an accident years back lost his younger brother Alphonse and one of his legs. Sacrificing one of his arms as well, he used alchemy to bind his brother's soul to a suit of armor. Ed's primary motivation throughout the series is to return his younger brother, Alphonse, to his original body, which was lost in a failed human transmutation. Edward, despite his occasional bouts of immaturity, is a selfless boy who gains a reputation as a "hero of the people" throughout his youth. Notably, he doesn't seem concerned about returning his own arm and leg, instead focusing entirely on Al's suffering. Edward is small for his age, standing at only 149 cm (4'11"), however his body is that of an experienced martial artist, with noticeable muscles and a wealth of agility. Although he lacks both his right arm and left leg, Ed's ability to fight is not impaired, and is in fact improved, as he will often use alchemy to cause his metal arm to partly transform into a blade or shield. His heavy automail limbs are considered by him to be the very best in Amestris. They were made by his childhood friend, Winry Rockbell, and she is constantly working on them. He is able to think quickly, even in desperate situations, though can still be frightened into paralysis. These qualities, combined with his alchemical powers and physical strength, make him a formidable fighter. Born to Trisha Elric and Van Hohenheim of Resembool in the winter of 1899, Edward's first few years were relatively happy; but after the sudden departure of his father during the lad's formative years, Ed was left with his mother and younger brother Alphonse as his only family. The three Elrics lived in peace in the rural village and the boys began displaying a remarkable talent for alchemy at a young age, much to the joyful astonishment of his mother. However, early in the year 1904, Trisha contracted an illness that had been spreading in the area and died, leaving her two sons orphaned. Even while mourning, mired in grief, Edward vowed to his brother that the two of them would find a way to bring their dear mother back to life with the power of alchemy. Edward and Alphonse spent the next few years living on their own in the Elric family home, supported by their close childhood friend Winry Rockbell and her grandmother Pinako, and pursuing the alchemical knowledge necessary for their planned resurrection. Although they had gained a great deal of information and comprehension regarding the extended basics of the craft, before long it became apparent to the young prodigies that there was only so far they could go while being self-taught. In a stroke of good fortune, Resembool was visited by an exceptionally skilled alchemist named Izumi Curtis who, after some persuasion, agreed to take the Elric brothers on as her apprentices provided they pass a preliminary test. After they do, the Elric brothers were subjected to Izumi's intensive alchemy and martial arts training, growing significantly in both mind and body and gaining a great deal of alchemical knowledge before returning to Resembool. Though instructed specifically by Izumi to understand that death is an irreversible part of the flow of the world and that acceptance of such is important to the "One is All, All is One" concept, the boys dove headlong into their plan to resurrect their mother upon their homecoming, having advanced their knowledge while abroad and discovered the basics to a forbidden practice called Human Transmutation. Devising a Human Transmutation Circle, amassing the elemental ingredients for an adult human body and offering their own blood as soul and biological data, the boys secretly initiated the Human Transmutation in their home. Unfortunately, the Human Transmutation resulted in a Rebound. Alphonse and Edward were pulled into The Gate. Encountering the mysterious being called Truth, Edward was stripped of his left leg in exchange for crossing into God's domain and peeking at the Gate's vast wealth of alchemical knowledge. Maimed and bleeding, Edward was returned to the human dimension to find that Alphonse had not yet returned from his disappearance into the Gate, that the mother they had attempted to revive was a grotesque mass of organs only capable of sustaining life for a few moments and that his own sojourn into the Gate had granted him the curious ability to perform transmutations merely by clapping his hands together, without the aid of a Transmutation Circle - in the same style used by Izumi. Desperate to at least have his brother by his side, Edward willfully performed another Human Transmutation to call him back, this time sacrificing his right arm in exchange for Al's soul, which he bound alchemically to an antique suit of armor with a Blood Rune before passing out from severe blood loss. Alphonse carried Ed to the Rockbell house, where a shocked Pinako and Winry performed emergency surgery to save the young boy's life. On the night of the failed transmutation. Lt. Colonel Flame alchemist Roy mustang came to the Rockbell's in response to a letter that Edward and Alphonse had sent him in the mail asking about their Father. He was shocked at the fact that the two boys had tried human alchemy and survived, and informed them that they could become state alchemist and maybe one day find a way to return their bodies to the way they were. Desperate to get His younger brother's body back, Edward asked the Rockbells to give him prosthetic limbs called automail. Though they warned him the surgery would be painful, he said the pain was nothing compared to what his brother had given up. Roy Mustang Profile

Birthday: 1885 (Age 30 from vol. 10) Height: 5'8" (173 cm) Roy Mustang is the "Flame Alchemist," having absolute control over heat and fire through alchemy. Using special gloves that create a spark when he snaps his fingers, Roy can create anything from a tiny ember to burn a letter, to a raging inferno that can destroy a humanoid body in seconds. His precise control over the alchemically enhanced flame is so accurate that he can boil the water in a persons' eyes and can also attack enemies amongst a riot without hurting any allies. Outwardly arrogant and playfully manipulative, Mustang is intelligent and almost always one step ahead of his opponents, and likes to feel in control of the situation. He is one of the superiors of Edward Elric. On the surface, he appears to be nothing more than a man of the military who pursues promotions and praise and is considered a ladies' man who constantly goes on dates with different women. Mustang's true goal is to become Führer in order to gain the power to reform the government in order to absolve his sins in the Ishval War as well as change the country for the better, along with the joking requirement for female officers to wear tiny miniskirts (which considerably increased Havoc's loyalty to him and caused Hawkeye to be angry with him). His goals are admirable enough that he earns the fierce loyalty of his good friends Lt Col. Maes Hughes, Major Alex Louis Armstrong, and his own subordinates, among whom are Riza Hawkeye, Jean Havoc, Heymans Breda, Vato Falman, and Kain Fuery. While Mustang has a close and amicable relationship with all of his subordinates, he appears to share a deeper bond of affection with his second-in-command Riza Hawkeye, who has devoted her life to supporting him. This bond culminates in the final episodes of the anime when Mustang chooses Hawkeye alone to accompany him on his greatest and most dangerous mission. He is a human child who lost his body during a forbidden alchemical transmutation to bring his deceased mother back to life, and had his soul transmuted into a suit of armor by his brother, Edward Elric. Al's blood seal lies just below the base of the neck at the back of the suit, on the inside. It is drawn with Ed's blood. According to Edward, he needs to be careful whenever he reconstructs Alphonse's body because he must keep the blood seal intact during the transmutation. Envy Profile

Envy is a homunculus who has the ability of shape-shifting. They use this power to assume the form of any person and even copy their voice. They usually serves as a spy, but their abilities are also extremely useful for assassinations. Envy may not be as smart as some of the other homunculi, but is by no means an idiot. In fact, they can be just as good a puppet master as Lust, but this is overshadowed by their cockiness and bad temper. Their temper can easily be set off by insulting their large and delicate ego, causing them to make mistakes. In the 2003 anime series: As the oldest Homunculus, Envy claimed that he had forgotten what he originally looked like. Envy also greatly hates all humans and followed Dante mostly for the opportunity of killing as many people as he could. This is what drove Envy in all that he did and unlike other Homunculi, Envy does not care about the Philosopher's Stone, nor about becoming human. In the manga and 2009 anime series: Envy was the fourth Homunculus created by Father. Though often referred to as a 'he' Envy is apparently genderless and can take almost any form they choose. Referred to by Lust as the most cruel or sadistic of the Homunculi, Envy shows the most open disdain of humans and relishes in any opportunity to hurt, humiliate, or insult them. Riza Hawkeye Profile

Riza Hawkeye is Roy Mustang's most trusted subordinate. She carries out many of the tasks he is too lazy to do, acts as his personal assistant, and protects him from danger. She also doubles as his voice of reason, keeping cool in heated situations and scolding him when he allows his emotions to get in the way. Riza and Roy seem to share a close relationship in both adaptations of Fullmetal Alchemist; in the anime she identifies him as her most precious person, whereas in the manga she loses her resolve to live when believing he has been killed. Riza specializes in firearms, particularly sniper rifles, and can hit nearly any target with lethal accuracy. She adopts a dog, called Black Hayate in both the anime and the manga, which she raises with stern discipline; when Hayate goes to the bathroom inside, she shoots at the wall behind him to reinforce that doing so is bad.(Source:MyAnimeList)

Lust Profile

Lust is a Homunculus, nicknamed the "Ultimate Spear", and one of the first antagonists in the Fullmetal Alchemist series. She is the first Homunculus to appear in the series and plays a significant role in the plot of both the manga and 2003 anime series. Lust is also usually partnered with Gluttony to whom she appears to have a particular almost motherly closeness. Her Ouroboros mark is located on her collarbone, just above her breasts. In the 2003 anime series; Like her manga counterpart, she is highly intelligent, manipulative, and devoted to her own ideals; however, she begins to crave becoming a human as the series progresses. Her main purposes amongst the Homunculi are gathering information, and traveling to manipulate alchemists into creating Philosopher's Stones. Gaining true humanity is the focal point of her ambition, arguably much more so than the rest of the Homunculi. In the manga and 2009 anime series; Lust is the only female Homunculus and the second to be created by Father. Due to her high intelligence and devotion to Father's plan, Lust appears to have a great deal of free reign and authority within the organization, seeming to have a position second only to Pride and on par with Wrath. Lust also has a great disdain for humans, thinking them frail, predictable and generally stupid. Moreover, she appears to take pleasure in using and throwing them away. Lust is the first to introduce the idea of Homunculi as superhuman, the next wave of evolution of humanity, and takes pride in her nature.(Source:Wikia)

Olivier Mira Armstrong Profile

Species: Human Occupation: Military Officer, Briggs General Weapon: A family heirloom sword Known relatives: Philip Gargantos Armstrong (father), Mrs. Armstrong (mother) Alex Louis Armstrong (younger brother), Catherine Elle Armstrong (youngest sister), Amue Armstrong (younger sister), Strongine Armstrong (younger sister) Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong is Alex Louis Armstrong's older sister. She is in charge of Briggs, the northern military border. She scoffs at the concept of "equivalent exchange" and believes "survival of the fittest" is the only law in life. Her subordinates are loyal, but if it ensured the survival of Briggs (or for the sake of the greater good), they are instructed to leave her to die if ever the need arose, and she wouldn't hold it against them. One of her closest subordinates is Major Miles, a soldier whose grandfather was Ishvalan; he is of many bloods due to several inter-racial unions, beginning with his grandparents. It is possible that he is also part Xingese, but his Ishvalan blood is the most prominent. Being the General of Briggs, Olivier has full command of the Fortress. Maes Hughes Profile

Maes Hughes is a character that is hard not to love. He is often seen as the comedy relief but has his debuts as a serious and skilled fighter. He is best friends with Roy Mustang (and would do anything to help Roy achieve his goals) and a loving and devoted husband/father. Maes would do anything for his wife Gracia and always carries pictures of his daughter Elycia in his uniform and never misses a chance to show everyone how cute she is. He starts out in the anime as a Major in the Investigation Division and eventually becomes a Lieutenant Colonel.(Source:MyAnimeList)

Greed Profile

Greed is a greedy Homunculus, nicknamed the "Ultimate Shield". He is able to rearrange the carbon in his body to make his skin as hard as diamond, thus making himself almost impossible to injure. As his name implies he is a very avaricious character, who likes living in luxury, surrounded by powerful minions and beautiful women. Despite his generally greedy nature, he is shown to honestly care for his subordinates. He also has a habit of flipping people off in the manga. In the 2003 anime series Greed is the second oldest of the Homunculi created by Dante. However, due to his avarice, Greed rebelled and was eventually captured and imprisoned in lab 5. He was imprisoned for 130 years until an explosion broke his seal. He then freed the caged chimera at Lab 5 in exchange for helping him get his revenge on the other homunculi and their master. In the manga and 2009 anime series He is the third Homunculus created by Father. Greed apparently abandoned the other Homunculi over 100 years before the start of the series and claims to be around two centuries old. A ardent fan of Edward Elric because of the way he helps people with alchemy, her image of him is quickly shattered when she sees him in person. Not knowing the history of the conflict between Scar and Edward, Mei helps Scar escape from the Emestrian military when the tide of battle turns against him, and begins traveling with him afterwards. Given that the contests that make up this figure are so varied (ranging from Rock, Paper, Scissors to sumo-wrestling), this is not much of an achievement on Guy's part. Kakashi's Sharingan eye gives him a significant advantage in battle, as he can copy enemy techniques and use them as his own, as well as track and predict his opponent's movements flawlessly. Because it is a transplanted eye, his Sharingan eye is always active. While this would not be much of a problem for an Uchiha, his non-Uchiha blood causes it to use much more chakra than it should. Because of this, he covers it with his headband and only utilizes it in the most dangerous battles. Kakashi's use of the Sharingan is as good as that of Itachi Uchiha, though the aforementioned handicaps brought about by the nature of his eye make him somewhat weaker in comparison. In Part II Kakashi is able to develop his own Mangekyo Sharingan. With his variant he is able to manipulate space-time to conduct long range attacks, and in its two uses has been capable of severing another's arms and otherwise sending things to different dimensions. Much like the standard Sharingan, the Mangekyo Sharingan tires Kakashi considerably, and after using it only three times he was hospitalized for a week due to its chakra usage. With his Sharingan Kakashi has been able to copy more than one thousand jutsu, giving him the nickname "Copy Ninja Kakashi". As a result, Kakashi's arsenal most prominently features ninjutsu abilities and has led to him becoming a specialist in the field. Many of the jutsu he has been seen copying in the series are water-based attacks, though most of these he only uses against the person he copies them from. He does, however, use Water Release: Water Encampment Wall on occasion as a way to block attacks. He less frequently uses other elemental attacks such as Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique to attack opponents or Earth Release: Inner Decapitation Technique (土遁・心中斬首の術, Doton: Shinjū Zanshu no Jutsu, Viz "Groundhog Technique Decapitation", English TV "Headhunter Jutsu") to pull opponents below ground and immobilize them. He can also create shadow clones, though because he lacks Naruto's chakra reserves, he exercises the ability with caution, rarely creating more than one at a time. While Kakashi specializes in the use of ninjutsu due to his Sharingan he is fairly adept with other jutsu types, though his use of them is rarely seen. Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique (魔幻・奈烙見の術, Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu) causes his opponent to see what they would find a horrifying vision, keeping them preoccupied until they can overcome the illusion. A Thousand Years of Pain (death in english dub) (千年殺し, Sennen Goroshi) consists of Kakashi forcefully plunging his index and middle fingers into an opponent's rectum. While only capable of launching the opponent humorous distances in typical uses, the fingers can be replaced with kunai attached with exploding tags to actually do damage to the person one is attacking. When he was younger Kakashi was taught how to use the Rasengan by the Fourth Hokage. Because the Rasengan is meant to have the user's chakra nature mixed with it, Kakashi attempted to add his lightning-based chakra to it, though was ultimately unsuccessful. In time he instead created the Chidori, his only original jutsu. After the jutsu's initial creation Kakashi was unable to use the Chidori to its full potential as the sheer speed of the attack left his normal eyes unable to see any form of an enemy counterattack. After acquiring the Sharingan, however, he was able to overcome this shortcoming. Minato Namikaze Profile

Minato Namikaze was the Yondaime Hokage of Konohagakure and the man responsible for sealing the nine-tailed demon fox inside Naruto Uzumaki when he was born. Doing so cost him his life, and before dying he asked that the villagers not see Naruto as the monster within him, instead wanting him to be viewed as a hero, a request ignored by the villagers. "Namikaze" translates literally as "Wave wind." "Minato" translates as "Harbor" or "Port."Minato is said to be one of the greatest ninja Konoha has ever produced, with natural talent that had not been seen in many years. He specializes in using the Hiraishin no Jutsu, a technique the Second Hokage, Tobirama created, which essentially allowed him to teleport to any location with the use of a special seal. By attaching the seal to a kunai or an enemy, Minato could teleport to the location of the seal unnoticed, allowing him to wipe out nearby opponents almost instantly. This ability led to his title as "Konoha's Yellow Flash," and it caused him to be seen as so dangerous that a flee-on-sight order was given in regards to him during the Third Ninja War. He also created the Rasengan, a technique that does not rely on hand seals but instead uses a concentration of spinning chakra in one's palm that causes immense damage to its victim on contact. Later in the series it is revealed that technique is actually incomplete. Saruhiko Fushimi Profile

Despite Naruto's close resemblance to his father, much of his personality and choice of ninjutsu are said to be similar to that of his mother's. What to do While There

Here are some notable highlights of the events available:

Walk of Fame, this is a wonderful chance for fans to be able to meet and greet up close with your favorite artist! It’s also a perfect chance to have the artists’ sign some of your personal items or just taking a photo together. The schedule of the Walk of Fame artist booth is available on the guide book distributed, make sure to come early or there will be the risk of ending up in a snake of a queue. There’s a Hello Kitty Booth, which resembles a small park with cute benches and tables, a must see and visit place for girls and Hello Kitty enthusiasts. An exclusive photo op was also available for the visitors to the booth.

Re:ON Comics booth, re:ON in short is an innovative re:VOLUTION of the comic industry in Indonesia. Basically, it’s a form of manga original from Indonesia that somewhat bears an uncanny resemblance to those manga in Japan in terms of artwork. It is Indonesia Comic Con 2015, so what better way to showcase that than to highlight an original manga/comic work from Indonesia. It’s encouraging to see creative and innovative original works such as re:ON and hopefully this will help draw out many potential artworks in the comic industry of Indonesia. Mr Kenji Ohba, the Indonesia Comic Con 2015 has invited the legendary actor and former stuntman known for his roles in Space Sheriff Gavan as Gavan, whose designed influenced Paul Verhoeven’s iconic pop culture film Robocop. In an exclusive interview with Mr Kenji Ohba, he expressed that during his time as a stuntman for the Space Sheriff Gavan series, the most memorable moment for him was to be able to hang out together with his fellow cameramen, staffs and crews. Mr Kenji Ohba also explained during the interview that a strong determination and endurance to the special training is what it truly takes for the young generations to be a stuntman.

It was an eye opening experience as the veteran actor stuntman gave some insight of what was the secret behind the success for the tokusatsu series. He revealed that Space Sheriff Gavan has their own set of unique characters, each with their own unique back story and interesting character design.

Final Thoughts

It was an exhilarating experience altogether! Being able to see so many of the people here bring out their best cosplays and having fun was a memorable experience. Since this was the very first Comic Con ever held in Indonesia, I had the chance to have a close up interview with one of the Head Marketing Communications people, Mrs. Ella Haryanto to answer some burning questions I had in mind about the event that was held. Mrs. Ella revealed that they had done research surveys beforehand to find out whether Indonesia has the market for this kind of event. Whether there will be people or communities willing to go to this kind of event. From the surveys, they found out that Indonesia has a lot of pop culture fans whether it be eastern pop culture or western pop culture. And so it was the right time for them to introduce Indonesia to the “real” Comic Con as they adopted it from New York Comic Con standards. Mrs. Ella also expressed that she was proud of the visitors that came to the event, because they felt very welcomed by the visitors. One of the visitors also stated that this event was “The” comic con because Mrs. Ella and her team filled the event with all sorts of entertainment; from movies, to games, merchandise, collectible items, fan meet-and-greets and so much more. Mrs. Ella hopes that for next year’s Indonesia Comic Con, they can truly integrate New York Comic Con’s standards into the event, so that the citizens of Indonesia won’t have to go overseas to enjoy a true comic convention event as they already can enjoy their very own, in the Indonesia Comic Con.

Indonesia Comic Con 2015 Overall Review

Pinky Lu Xun-- “I happen to love reading re:ON comics, and also I thought that it is the Indonesia Comic Con, so why not cosplay something from Indonesia? I’m using batik, a unique fabric originated from Indonesia as the base material. Being the only guest from Indonesia, for me personally, I think I needed to cosplay something that says ‘Indonesia’.”

Honey’s Anime-- “Being a pioneering cosplayer here in Indonesia, what were the challenges you face when you first started cosplaying?”

Pinky Lu Xun-- “At that time there weren’t many people that knew about cosplay and so people assume we’re freaks. But now thanks to more & more cosplay events being held, the society has learned to accept us more as ‘artists’ rather than freaks.”

Honey’s Anime-- “Can you give us some comments about this year’s cosplay championship contestants?”

Pinky Lu Xun-- “From what I see from the preliminaries judging, I can assure you that the 15 finalist that were chosen are the best because we also want to show the other guests from all around the world that these cosplays are from Indonesia and are the works from Indonesian cosplayers.”

Indonesia Comic Con 2015 Final Thoughts

The cosplay championship was awesome! The winners are as follow:

Firmanda Romas as ED 209 from the Robocop Movie (2014) emerged as the winner of the third place ICC Cosplay Championships

The second place of the ICC Cosplay Championships, Herry Bertus as Prime Evil of Diablo 3.

Abraham Enriquez Cruz as Vicious Summoner of Dekaron, emerged as the winner of Cosplay Championships and will represent Indonesia at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo Cosplay Crown championships of 2016.

It was a very interesting experience for me as it was my first time being able to watch a cosplay competition. And it made me realize that there are so many cool cosplayers here in Indonesia. The details of the costumes, the added effects of the costumes, the short performance given by the cosplayers made this cosplay competition a really interesting event to see!

About Noragami

The world consists of two parts: the near shore and far shore. The near shore is the place where people reside, while the far shore is the place for deities and ayakashi, which are emotional fragments that can posses humans and cause trouble. So it is a deity's responsibility to remove those ayakashi from the near shore with the help of weapons called Shinki, made from the spirits of dead people. Yato is a minor deity of war without shrine. Together with his Shinki, Tomone, he runs a Delivery Wish Granting Service, granting wishes for only 5 yen. After his Shinki leaves him on less than agreeable terms, he decides to run simple errands that do not involve ayakashi-related matters. While on a mission to find a lost kitten, he is nearly hit by a bus, but saved by a girl named Iki Hiyori. Hiyori dies for a moment, but then comes back to life. This, however, causes Hiyori's soul to become unstable, leaving her body frequently. So by offering 5 yen, she asks Yato to fix her body... but Yato cannot help without a Shinki, so Hiyori accompanies him on his journey to find one, in the hopes of becoming normal again. Yato Profile

"Gods can do anything they want. Including hurting someone... Or taking their lives." Yato is a god who attempts to build his own shrine. He wears a jersey and so-called fluffy scarf and refers to himself as "Yato God" (Yatogami). When his current Shinki (Divine Weapon) quit, he was unarmed until he met Hiyori and Yukine. He calls himself "delivery god" and often puts his own cell number on several common places in case someone needs his help. He usually charges for 5 yen, what Japanese people usually give when praying at a shrine. He used to be a feared God of War, known as a "God of Calamity." Age: 15 Although the daughter of a respectable family, she's a martial arts-loving junior high-school student. After being saved by Yato, she becomes more prone to having out-of-body experiences. Yukine Profile

Anime Festival Asia 2015 Singapore (AFA 15) - Basic Information

First Day Experience - Nov 27th 2015

Event goers are greeted by myriad of familiar names once they have entered the event hall. Many of the favourite booths have returned such as Good Smile Company, Smart Doll, Pony Canyon, Odex, each bringing new and revamped content and exclusives! That's not saying there's nothing new! AFA 2015 did not fail to impress again with new booths by the good people from CHEERZ!, NHK World and Force Of Will, bringing a fresh outlook and perspective, which we were only too happy to welcome with open arms. For today's feature, we paid a visit to Danny Choo's smart doll's booth. It was such a treat! On display is the 3D printer used to manufacture each smart doll! The line up of dolls this year was of a higher diversity than before, each adorned with new clothes, it was like a mini fashion show for doll aficionados!

I love Anisong - AFA 2015 Singapore

Every year without fail, AFA will wrap up the day's events with the Anisong segment. Event goers are treated to popular J-Pop music and memorable Anime tracks. I think this is the AFA way of ending the day with a blast! The Anisong segment is a much anticipated event with front row VIP seats being taken up in a matter of minutes! Despite the hefty sum of S$398 (early bird VIP price) price tag for all three days, it is well worth it for the fans as they are given the opportunity to see numerous of their favourite artistes, LIVE! To put it into perspective, that's about 280 US Dollars or about 34,500 Yen. This year's theme is Anisong Reboot! Featuring new faces, some never before seen on the AFA stage, we are of the opinion that it fits the title perfectly as it is most definitely time for a reboot! This year's line-up sees the most number of fresh new faces joining the grand stage of AFA as well as being the most varied throughout the years!

For the Anisong Day 1, Honey's Anime would like to feature ZAQ! Fans would know ZAQ as the artist that sang openings to favourite titles such as Chuunibyou demo Koi Ga Shitai! and Highschool DxD New. This is ZAQ's first time in Singapore and while she may be an unfamiliar face for some, she definitely did not disappoint! ZAQ opened with "Katararezu Tomo" from Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Genso. The upbeat and thrilling tempo excited the fans, bringing their unity as anime lovers to an equilibrium as light sticks started swaying with more zest. Fans instantly recognised the theme ending to Chuunibyou and started to wave their light sticks fervently. The atmosphere intensified as ZAQ started dishing out track after track of familiar openings to some well-known animes. The finale? The opening to Chuunibyou: Sparkling Daydream. A perfect way to end her act!

Being the first act is never easy. People’s expectations are high, is the first performer that manage the crowd and set the whole atmosphere for the event. As it is her first time in Singapore, fans and us alike are left in the dark as to what kind of show will bring. Before her act even started, fans were already cheering and chanting. nano's performance did not fall short of expectation as she blasted her fans with her energy and enthusiasm with notable songs like “Nevereverland”, “Born to Be”, “Bull's Eye” and “No Pain, No Game”. A natural crowd pleaser as well, she is funny and is perfectly confident in addressing her large amount of people but yet chooses her words in such a way that it appeals to an individual. Although it was a short act, she left with a short, but powerful message which reflects strongly on her dedication and passion in music. "Remember to smile and smile to others as well. Music is the tool to help us smile. It may not be mine but whenever you feel down, put on music and just smile!". She brought a great start for the final event of AFA 2015.

Mika Kobayashi

Next to appear on stage is Mika Kobayashi. Her opening act was from the soundtrack of Shingeki no Kyojin’s “ət'æk 0N tάɪtn” or The Armoured Titan's theme. With her captivating vocals, she took the atmosphere that nano was left behind and made it her own. Kobayashi-san brought us back in time by singing yet another hot favourite from the past - “Bios” from Guilty Crown. Naturally artistic, she collaborated with Tetsuro Shimaguchi, KAMUI to put on a show that kind of reminds you of Kabuki theatre. Whilst unnatural for a concert event, this innovative presentation was beautifully executed with Kobayashi-san playing the piano and KAMUI enchanting the crowd with his swordplay.

GARNiDELIA

GARNiDELIA was up next. A rising force in the music industry in Japan, GARNiDELIA's duo has a unique style of music and fans became wild when they are announced as the next act. GARNiDELIA's passion for music resonated throughout the concert hall. To showcase their tenacity for music. The set list for this year is almost like a mix of GARNiDELIA's past to present. They've included a song from MARiA’s days in a different group called “Girls” and the ever famous “SPiCa” back from Toku's days as Toku-P! Recent hits includes “Ambiguous” from Kill la Kill, “Grilleto” from Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei and “Daze” from Mekakucity Actors. Fans continuously cheered as the duo dished out hit after hit leaving behind a captivated audience.

Lia

The penultimate act, Lia is known for singing many of the studio Key's anime openings. This year was no exception. The poignant memories of our beloved anime such as Clannad, Angel Beats!, Air, and most recently - Charlotte from last season was elicited, reminding of the feels trips we had to go through all over again as she mesmerizes the audience with her captivating vocals. Lia's alluring voice was not her only gift to her fans that day. She announced plans for a world tour in Asia featuring IA, the Vocaloid voiced by her. Coming in year 2016, she will be featured as a special guest. Look out for Party A Go-Go! a revamped vocaloid concept with the enchanting Lia in year 2016.

May'n

The finale act to close off AFA 2015 was May'n! A featured artist since year 2008, she appears every year on the final day. This year was no difference, May'n dynamism and powerful vocals resonated throughout the whole concert hall. Her set list included a brand new single - “Yamaidare Darlin”, the OP to Aquarion Logo. This year, May'n also sang popular songs from anime throughout her career such as “Chase the World”, the popular “Diamond Crevasse” and “ViVid” before ending off the event with “Lion” which sent the crowd wild! May'n has once again upped the ante and never fails to disappoint.

AFA 2015 - Final Day Experience

Walking Around the Booths

It's the last day of AFA 2015! As usual the crowd was relentless! We had to squeeze our way through JUST to get in! For today's portion, we paid a visit to the good people at Good Smile Company. Famed for their brand of products known as nendoroids or more affectionately referred to by fans as 'nendos', they are figurines that range from cute chibi sized to figurine size. Here are some of their best displays!

Doujin Booths

We've also visited both doujin booths and official merchandise stalls. Ranging from anime memorabilia to props to T-shirts, these stalls fulfils the inner otaku in you by letting you own your very own piece of anime! AFA 2015 allocates a space for doujin owners to set up stalls and hawk their wares. This year, we see an increase of space with a new name. This year's doujin area is appropriately named, Creator's Hub. These original creations are cheaper than the original deal from the large manufacturers. However, no doubt that they are cheap, given the originality and appeal of the products, they still sell out within a few hours with some even becoming ongoing trends on site as well. Interview with Guest Cosplayers

Making the costumes themselves from scratch, changing careers, and dealing with criticism are some of the challenges cosplayers face without losing enthusiasm for their passion. No anime festival is complete without guest cosplayers! Gracing us with their skills, craft, and stunning looks, they're a great addition to any event and help bring the anime experience to life. As the biggest anime event in South East Asia, AFA was able to secure a stellar line up consisting of Angie, Baozi&Hana, Ely, Jun & Neru, Kaname, Liui Aquino, Otogi Nekomu, Sansin, Tomia, Ying Tze, Honey’s Anime was lucky enough to be able to get a Q&A session with Ely Cosplay, Liui Aquino, Tomia & Sansin as they shared their thoughts on cosplay, community and themselves!

Honey’s Anime: -- How is the cosplay culture like in your home country, and do you add any local elements into your cosplays?

Liui: Ok I'll start! Cosplay lately has become more mainstream in the Philippines, more people are starting to try it, you know, teenagers and even old people! They think it's fun. My friends and me are like promoting cosplay to be fun, and it's for everyone. And that's pretty much it!

Tomia: In Korea, there are specialty shops that make cosplay costumes. They prepare them quite fast, unlike Japan, which takes a long time to prepare one costume each time.

-- What's are some challenges you faced while starting cosplay and how did you overcome it?

Ely: I think it was making the wig and costumes, like how to make it as close to the characters as possible. It was quite hard cause we didn't know how to translate the 2D into 3D, hahaha.

Tomia: The costumes were the most difficult to me. I went on the Internet to learn how to make the costumes myself. But it was still very difficult so I ended up attending fashion school. But now I can make any costume!

Liui: To me, as a male cosplayer, there were a lot of difficulties I experienced, not just for costumes, not just for trying to show the girls that us guys can cosplay too. The hardest part for me was trying to get my parents to understand that cosplay was a good hobby. Something like they can accept, and trying to get people to appreciate and that it's very valuable to us cosplayers. It's not just about how the costumes are very difficult but also about how passionate you are, and how much you love your character.

-- Have you been criticized by your family and friends when you started this hobby and how would you recommend new cosplayers to carry on despite similar challenges?

Liui: Yeah actually... We don't really care about what people say about us. For family, especially for older people, they think it's immature and not something like, grown ups should be doing. I think that's one of the sadder things we hear, but we don't really care about what people will say. And, I'm into Disney and Dreamworks cosplay, and there's a lot of cosplayers into that as well and a lot of people criticize me like "Oh you're Asian, you cannot do western characters". And it's kind of painful but we don't really care, cause we're doing this for fun, yeah.

Ely: I think it's cause I love cosplay. When I'm out of this hobby on a normal day with other people, doing normal work. But in cosplay, I want to enjoy it, so I don't really care. I keep it separate so I can enjoy different lives.

Sansin: I started cosplay when I was younger but kinda stopped for two years. When I came back I was 18 and a lot of people were saying that it's a very late age to start. And since I do a lot of male characters there are a lot of limitations to it. So for those who just started cosplay; don't be scared, just go with it. Just do it.

-- How do you feel like when meeting with your all your fans?

Liui: I think it's more of, they support us cause they like the characters we're cosplaying.

Ely: I feel very appreciative of them.

Liui: Oh yeah, I'm very appreciative of them too! It's like because of them we're here. When people are mobbing us, it's kind of scary sometimes but it's also like they appreciate our presence and I think that's priceless for us.

-- In what significant ways has cosplay impacted your lives?

Tomia: I changed my major due to cosplay and like, my career choices? Yeah.

Sansin: I have very low confidence out of cosplay, but when I dress up as a guy I suddenly get a lot of confidence. But one of the negative impacts is that my wallet is always empty!

Liui: Even before cosplay I was already kinda confident? You know, derping around with other people something like that. I think what positive things it gave me was that I appreciate more. Like what I want to do, what I want. I appreciate my family more too, when I go out I miss them. And I appreciate people overall too like, you should not judge people and the way they do things, cause you don't know how hard it was for them to make something or do something. Like, other cosplayers, you don't have to judge them, just appreciate what they have. And I also appreciate little kids, before I didn't like kids but now one of my goals is to make little kids happy or young at heart people. But one of the negative things is that I am missing time with family and friends.

-- How do you manage time between cosplay and work?

Ely: Because of cosplay my main job was changed. I was an office lady, but because I spent so much time on cosplay and travelling, I changed my main job yeah. My main job is an illustrator now.

Liui: I worked as a manager back in the Philippines but after a while I didn't like it so I changed to being in human resources. I started working right after college so I had no time to had fun. But I made an investment in my career so if I ever want to return to what I did before, I can do that but right now I want to enjoy. Cause nobody right now has so many opportunities to travel and meet so many people so I want to take this chance and when I don't like it anymore, return to my old job.

Tomia: I can make the costumes and manage my time cause I'm doing part time work. Like I do web design, logo designs, modeling fitting. I also help people make costumes and direct photo shoots. I get a lot of help from the people around me so I get to do what I'm doing now. So there's no problem with managing my work and cosplay.

Sansin: I major in drawing, so my work is very otaku related. So there's not much trouble managing work and cosplay.

-- What are some interesting or memorable experiences you had during photo shoots?

Sansin: Once, for a shoot with a big team, we rented out a whole hotel suite. In hunterxhunter there is a scene where all the characters gather in a hotel room and we tried to recreate that scene so it was very special shoot for me.

Tomia: This is one of the bad experiences I had. When shooting Elsa, it was very cold, so we went to a rural area to shoot. The driver didn't know the way so we drove around for 5hrs and I caught a cold! I couldn't stand more than 20 minutes for the shoot before we had to go back.

Liui: Memorable? I think everyone knows my hiccup photo, the one on 9gag with only my top half looking into the distance? The real story behind that was my father took that photo on our roof top and yeah, the top half was very good but I was only wearing boxers for the lower half, hahaha. So it's like expectations and reality? So it was very funny cause I didn't expect it to go viral, and I'm very proud but when people ask me "Where is the bottom half?" I'm like "Nope, boxers" hahaha.

Ely: When I was shooting for my photobook I was in Japan, and I was shooting at this mountain with a tengu center. So my character was a tengu, and when I was there I met this little girl and she was like "OOOH! Tengu! Omg tengu!" And when she goes home I think she'll tell her parents about how she met a tengu in the tengu mountains. Honey's Anime was able to catch the winning team as they were celebrating their victory, and were lucky enough to clinch an interview with them and here's what they had to say!

-- How long did you guys take to prepare your performance?

Naru: It took two months of planning and deciding what to do, then another two months to choreograph and practice our set. Making the costumes took another two months.

-- That effort seems to have paid off!

Erlan: Hahaha, yeah!

-- So, how was it like performing on stage after all your preparations?

Naru: We were very nervous. And I was quite sad that I forgot some of my moves. I am a perfectionist! Must always aim to be perfect, that's how you improve, hahaha!

-- But even though you missed some steps you still won! How do you guys feel?

Erlan: I'm very glad that we won, this was our first competition here in Singapore so it's a very big deal to us. Every year since 2013, Indonesia has been winning ARCC so I'm also happy that we were able to be the champions of 2015!

-- How are you guys planning to spend the $800 prize money then?

Naru: To make more costumes! Hahaha!

Erlan: Yes! Cosplay got us here, so it makes sense to use the prize money on more costumes!

Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. She is also impatient, liking people who answer her questions quickly as seen when she promptly knocks out anyone who doesn't answer her questions (despite them not knowing anything). Also, Erza has a problem where she apparently sees everyone as guild members (best seen when she asks civilians to take things places during a mission). However, she has a great sense of justice. Despite being a very strict person, she seems to have a clumsy side to her as seen during the Galuna arc when she fell into a pit hole. Like most Fairy Tail members, she shows great loyalty and dedication to Makarov and the guild. She pushed herself past her limit in the war against the Phantom Lord Guild, fighting against its many powerful members. She also became the temporary leader when Makarov had to be treated because of his scattered magic. Although it hasn't been fully explored, it is implied that Natsu Dragneel, Erza and Gray Fullbuster are all very close to each other. While staying over at Lucy's house, Erza revealed that the three of them used to take showers together. Lucy's member stamp is located on the back of her right hand. At the beginning of the series, Lucy is an independent novice mage searching for a mage guild to join, particularly interested in Fairy Tail, which she claims as the strongest mage guild. Though she tells Happy she considered joining Fairy Tail's rival guild, Phantom Lord, due to their similar outrageous nature and personality, she is content with her decision of joining Fairy Tail. After being rescued by Natsu from the slave ship, she is invited to join the guild. Once joining Fairy Tail, Lucy becomes a member of Natsu's team. Lucy is one of the saner and more stable members of Fairy Tail, having common sense that other members of the guild seem to lack. She consistently points out Natsu's and others' idiocy. Lucy is also very confident in her appearance and sexiness, exuding a certain amount of vanity. Despite this superficial attitude, Lucy is passionate for literature and is in the process of writing her own novel about her adventures with Fairy Tail. She is a member of the Heartfilia family, one of the richest and most influential conglomerate families in the country of Fiore. However, due to her estranged relationship with her father and the death of her mother, she left home to follow her own path. It should also be noted that she was the only other person who had ever shut Gray and Natsu up without beating them up first. Natsu and Gray seem a little scared of her when she's under the weather, even if Lucy's magic is not as strong as theirs and can't force them into submission like Erza. Lucy practices Stellar Spirit magic, a skill which allows her to summon spirits from another world using Keys of the Gates. Her Stellar Spirits have varying levels of power, with different ones suited for different tasks. For example, Aquarius can control water, while Taurus has enormous strength. Along with her keys, she also carries a whip, which she is proficient with. Lucy explains to Natsu that Stellar Spirit mages have the potential to obtain extremely rare Gold Keys, which open the gates of the "Ecliptic Zodiac", and common, store-bought Silver keys. Each gold key has the Zodiac symbol of the one it is used to summon on it. According to Lucy, while there is a large number of silver keys, there are only 12 gold keys. Thus far in the series, Lucy has obtained 10 Gold Keys and 4 Silver Keys. She also summoned all of her Gold keys (5 of them at the time) and Plue at once, although it only lasted a few seconds, it showed her to be very powerful. He is frequently partnered with fellow Fairy Tail members Happy, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, and Erza Scarlet. He is commonly known to the public as a powerful mage called "The Salamander." But this title has started to fade as the series progresses. Natsu's most prominent features are his spiky rosy-colored hair and his signature scaly white scarf which may have been given to him by Igneel. Natsu has a scar on the right side of his neck which may be the reason he wears his scarf almost all the time. He got the scar from Erza when they were kids. He has no separate eye color, his eyes instead being solely the color of his black pupils. Natsu is of regular height, and his body is toned but not noticeably muscular. His member's stamp is located at the top of his right arm, just below his shoulder. Natsu has a carefree and reckless nature and, despite his constant brawls with the other members of the guild, is a fiercely loyal and protective friend. He has a particularly close, and competitive relationship with fellow members; Gray Fullbuster and Erza Scarlet. With the former, he has had a constant rivalry from a young age and although they often denounce each other as not being friends, they regularly watch each others' back even when they are enraged with one another. He has had the same sort of relationship with Erza—the two both being scared of her since a young age—and they seemed to have a fairly good relationship in the past as, according to Erza, they used to shower together. He befriends people rather quickly too, considering Lucy a friend and willing to team up with her only after a few days of knowing her. Natsu's father had left him when he was young. Igneel, a dragon, found him in the forest and ended up taking care of him. He taught Natsu how to speak, and use magic. But one day Igneel disappeared on July 7, X777; Igneel left Natsu to fend for himself without so much as a goodbye or an explanation for his reasons for doing so. Juvia (Edolas) is a member of the Edolas Fairy Tail Guild and the Edolas counterpart of Juvia Lockser. In Edolas, Juvia likes, but has no super crush on Gray Surge. Instead, Gray has the super crush on her. She turns down a mission with him because he wears too much clothing. She was seen explaining some parts of Edolas and not agreeing to what Gray says. Gray Fullbuster Profile

Age: 18 Hair color: black Eye color: dark blue Occupation: Mage Affiliation: Fairy Tail Guild Team: Team Natsu Magic: Ice-Make, Ice Magic Gray Fullbuster is a member of the Fairy Tail guild. He is an 18-year-old ice mage, practicing ice alchemy, the art of molding ice. Due to his training history, he is most comfortable in little clothing and often forgets to wear clothes or quickly takes it off, thus often being accused of being an exhibitionist. He and Natsu have a friendly rivalry, and can often be seen fighting one another. Lucy believes the nature of his magic is the reason that he and Natsu constantly bicker. His member stamp is on the right side of his chest. In certain panels, Gray's necklace looks quite similar to the Rave Stone which is a crucial part of another one of Mashima's stories, "Rave Master." Mashima has stated he doesn't remember the name. About Boku no Hero Academia

It all started with the news of the birth of a “luminescent baby” in Keikei City, China. Since then, “Paranormalities” have been discovered all over the world, but their cause still remains unclear. Now, we have entered the superhuman age, where eighty percent of the world’s total population are born with some kind of idiosyncrasy, known as a Quirk. While criminals and villains who use their supernatural powers for evil are steadily on the rise, there is also a society of heroes who use the very same Quirks to stand against and save people from villains and disasters. The fictional heroes that everyone idolised have become a reality. It’s in this kind of world that Izuku Midoriya (known as Deku by his friends) hopes to become a hero and sets out to enroll in Yuuei, a Hero Academy known for producing countless famous heroes. Izuku’s childhood friend. A confident character with incredible intellect, physical strength, and fighting sense. Has a strong desire for self-improvement, and is determined to be the number one hero. His Quirk is called 'Explosion', an ability where he can secrete Nitro-esque sweat from his palms, and make it explode.

Shouto Todoroki Profile

An elite hero with both top-class intellect and physical ability. His Quirk is called 'Half-Cold Half-Hot', and allows him to freeze enemies with his right hand and burn them with his left. The range and temperature of his attacks are unknown.

Izuku Midoriya Profile

15-year-old boy who, despite having no Quirk, dreams of becoming a hero. He's shy, but his desire to save people is stronger than anyone else's. Meeting famous hero All Might changes fate for this young man.

Ochako Uraraka Profile

Has a bright personality with nothing to hide. Understands Izuku really well. Came to Tokyo on her own in order to attend the Hero Academy. Her Quirk is called 'Zero Gravity', and allows her to turn anything she touches with the pads on her fingertips.
