About Berserk

Guts, known as the Black Swordsman, seeks sanctuary from the demonic forces that pursue him and his woman, and also vengeance against the man who branded him as an unholy sacrifice. Aided only by his titanic strength, skill, and sword, Guts must struggle against his bleak destiny, all the while fighting with a rage that might strip him of his humanity. Berserk is a dark and brooding story of outrageous swordplay and ominous fate, in the theme of Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Berserk Characters Profile

Griffith Profile

A series like Berserk needed a great villain if it ever needed to be successful, and boy does Griffith fit the bill. His betrayal at the Eclipse is as cataclysmic as it is shocking, and it makes something like the Red Wedding look like a tea party. What makes Griffith such an impactful villain is everything that made him such a likable character before hand. He was an amazing fighter, tactician and leader. He was consummately beautiful, drawing the eye of both men and women. He can talk and relate to a common soldier as easily as he could a court noble. Griffith inspired so many people throughout his run for King, and it's hard to think he wouldn't have made a better ruler than most of the incompetent aristocrats at the time. Griffith always had a duplicitous ambition but he had a group of comrades he never wanted to abandon. He's not simply evil as some make him out to be. In fact in the world of Berserk, that the eclipse happened at all is testament that the Band of the Hawk was very dear to him. However, the events of Berserk are so jarring that it's easy to see why people hate him. I'll always be a Griffith Fanboy and an Ironic #GriffithdidNothingWrong poster, he's one of my favorite characters from all fiction and unquestionably one of anime's most iconic and tragic villains.

Guts Profile

Guts Is an anime and manga icon. He is one of the most recognizable figures coming from those mediums and It's impossible to not give him the number one spot. Guts is such a tragic character with an amazing story that he deserves to be one of the standard bearers for anime and manga. Guts is such an amazing hero and antihero, he's not a guy trying to fight haphazardly for justice, in fact he's been fighting so long merely just to survive. But Gut's was never a 'fight for the sake of fighting' edge lord, he did want to build his strength as a warrior throughout most of the Golden Age arc but his story was more about finally finding a home and a group of people who cared for him, leaving it for his own foolish reasons and then having it tragically, cruelly ripped away from him when he tried to go back to it, realizing he was much more important to it than he ever gave himself credit for. Gut's delivers an huge amount of appeal as an action hero, and there are so many times where I clenched my fist and cheered because he came into battle at a key time and saved some of his comrades. But before all that, he's simply a fantastic character who's search for a home, identity, friends, comrades and a lover is universal. I really pray that Miura has somewhat of a happy ending in store for te Black Swordsman.

Casca Profile

Casca goes through a lot of hell in the world of Berserk. Unlike many, she's still alive but she's scarred to the point of being mute, mentally ill and without her memories. A miserable fate made even worse by how bright Casca shone in the Golden Age. Casca was universally respected by the Hawks, she was a woman who lived in the age of total patriarchy and led men successfully on the field of battle. She was skillful, agile fighter who was fleet of foot and able to defeat men who were bigger and stronger than her. Casca led the hawks in the desperate times after Griffith was imprisoned, and was the only thing that kept the band together. Nearly at the end of her rope, she tried to commit suicide only before Guts managed to pull her back and the two started a relationship in which they found some happiness in eachother. I really want to see that Happiness back in Berserk, and I hope that Casca gets her memories back soon.

Farnese Profile

Our resident Pyromanic, Farnese is a bit of a problem child but has recently gone into far more problematic and damning territory. But Berserk being what it is, it doesn't simply pass her off as some unforgivable evil. Berserk's world is cruel and brutish, but beautiful things still happen, and Farny, as she's affectionately called by members of her party is starting to earn more and more redemption. Her story of how her neglect as a child had the effect of, shall we say, igniting a darker side to her is a story that's all too common in the world of Berserk. But bit by bit she's starting to find a place for herself not just in developing her abilities but forging new and deeper relationships with Guts and the rest of the group. Farny's character arc is worthy of what Berserk did before she was introduced, and she's s one of the best thing s about the later arc.

About Danganronpa

Makoto Naegi was just your average student that happened to be selected to join an elite high school named Hope’s Peak Academy. However, upon arrival, Makoto immediately loses consciousness and wakes up to find himself locked inside the school with 14 other students and a deranged teddy bear who wishes to play a dangerous game with them. According to this teddy bear (who calls himself Monokuma), there is only one way to escape, or “graduate”: murder another student and successfully get away with it without getting caught. Each time a murder happens, a “class trial” will be held to uncover the murderer, with a successful verdict resulting in the murderer’s execution and an incorrect verdict resulting in the death of everyone except the culprit, who will be free to leave. If you’re a fan of The Hunger Games and Battle Royale, then this anime should be right up your alley. The concept of fighting to the death and becoming the only survivor of a certain ordeal is something that would take a toll on anybody; the effects this would have on high school kids are almost guaranteed to be permanent. We see a change over the series occur to Makoto as he struggles to cling to some sense of sanity after being thrust into a situation where there are no brakes to stop it, and the only thing left to do is to play the game. We also get to see the various effects the game has on the other characters, and the variety of choices and conclusions they come to in order to survive. One thing is guaranteed: whoever leaves Hope’s Peak Academy leaves it a very different person from when they first arrived.

Junko Enoshima Profile

Enoshima Junko is the true mastermind behind the evils of Hope’s Peak but some viewers tend to believe that all can be forgiven, even her conniving, murderous impulses and unpredictable personality. And who can blame them, Enoshima Junko is serious eye candy. Junko’s so good looking that when she was killed off for being caught for murder, the story was spun in such a way that she’d still be alive! She is normally seen wearing a black cardigan over a white shirt, an undone necktie which brings attention to her cleavage, a red bow tie on the left side of her chest, a short red skirt and mid-sized boots. Her hair is strawberry blonde and done up into two ponytails and she wears quite a bit of makeup, baby blue eyeshadow being the most notable.

Celestia Ludenberg Profile

Celestia Ludenberg, or “Celeste”, is one of the students selected to participate in Monokuma’s deranged competition of being the last student to survive in his school by his rules. Celeste is very ambitious, doing whatever is necessary to win any competition she’s in, and also very prideful, refusing to accept defeat until the very end. Celeste’s skills in gambling are unmatched, and is often known as the “Queen of Liars.” Celeste is very much the go to example for the average gothic anime girl dressed in the Lolita fashion. It’s not just the fact that her dress black and white; it’s the extra details that help complete the ensemble that make it. The ribbons, knee-high stockings, lace on the dress, and unique hairstyle all come together to give off the classic Lolita look that has come to be associated with the gothic style. Although the hair would be very difficult to pull off, the rest of the outfit is something that can be recreated, which makes Celeste very influential in terms of what is thought of whenever girls are dressed in the gothic style.

Kyouko Kirigiri Profile

Known as the High School Sleuth, Kirigiri possesses an astute nature as well as the traits of a good detective. Quite mysterious from the start, she is often the one revealing the culprits and presenting decisive evidence against them. Kirigiri remains unfazed at the sight of a dead body and can even go as far as to conduct an autopsy on them. However, deep down, she can get emotionally upset but she hides it behind her stoic nature. She is known to find the goodness in people as well which reflects her caring and understanding personality. However, in order not to compromise everyone, she puts on her stoic mask to find the true perpetrator of the crime, which also allowed her to work with a clear mind.

Monokuma Profile

Monokuma is the main antagonist of the series. A strange, remote-controlled teddy bear who proclaims himself to be the principal of Hope's Peak Academy and initiates a life of mutual killing amongst the students. He has various copies of himself throughout the Academy and will punish, ie. kill, anyone that attempts to attack him or otherwise break the academy's rules. Much like his name, he has a monochrome appearance, with one half looking like a cute white bear and the other half looking like a sadistic black bear. Nothing feels more gratifying than to spend your time with people who bring out the best in you. Every morning feels like heaven, while the late nights are just another adventure waiting to happen. Nami Profile

Now for everyone’s favorite navigator, the Straw Hat Pirates very own Nami. Although very much a good girl at heart, Nami is always on the lookout for treasure, and she’s pretty talented when it comes to profiting from a situation. Despite not having any devil fruit powers or starting off with any notable combat skills, Nami always manages to stick with the crew on their adventures and is more than capable of fighting her own battles using her Clima-Tact, a weather based weapon. Not afraid of showing some skin, Nami is often seen in bikini style tops throughout the series, and to be fair it looks pretty hot out there. So as you can imagine there are a few swimsuits to choose from for Nami, but this time we’ve gone for her iconic rainbow bikini, featured in the short, Glorious Island. This piece is a great example of One Piece’s in-your-face, bright artwork at its best, with its thin form barley containing Nami’s immense chest and curvaceous hips. Despite being a short special, over a minute of the playtime is dedicated to pure Nami fan service, which is exactly the kind of thing we’re after here.

About Hetalia

One of the most intelligent anime that have been produced in recent years is Hetalia, which features an allegorical tale that pretty much focuses on world history. Utilizing personifications of different countries around the world, the series is able to explore some of the most significant events in history with a twist and flair that only anime could bring. Indeed, it is one show that is laugh-out-loud and surprisingly historically accurate at the same time. Of course, with a premise such as this, the characters and their development would be the very heart of the anime.

England Profile

What’s particularly endearing about England is the fact that he has been through a lot. He was known as many things during his long life, going from a Britannia Angel, Raging Pirate, Dashing Knight, Police Commander, a spy and an agent of the secret service, a Punk Rocker, a ruling Prince, and even a pretty badass sorcerer with a pretty good knowledge of Black Magic. He’s had a ton of experience with as many historical events as you could think of, from wars to famine, to loneliness and his dilemma about doing what is ultimately right for his colonies. Decorated, extraordinary, and ultimately irreplaceable, England is the one country that could never be matched in this witty little anime series. Yes, I don’t believe that Hetalia would be Hetalia without him.

Prussia Profile

A now non-existent country that was dissolved by the Allies in 1947. He was born to fight, fight, fight, and avoided marriages at all costs. His hair is platinum blonde with deep violet-red eyes to match, but in early artwork, his hair was colored dark blonde and his eyes were blue. In the past, he picked on Hungary, whom he thought to be male because of her burly personality and appearance as a child. Eventually, the two found out that Hungary was actually female, and since then, their relationship has been somewhat awkward, and because of their competitive childhood (and the fact that they still hold grudges against each other for all of the things that they did to torture each other in the past), they don't really get along. However, Hungary did mention once that she'd be very lonely if anything ever happened to Prussia. In response, Prussia often shows dismay and somberness whenever he spots Hungary and Austria spending time together. Prussia's younger brother and drinking buddy is Germany, whom he affectionately calls "West." After he was dissolved, Prussia moved into Germany's house and has lived there ever since. You can usually find Germany cleaning and organizing their home, stumbling over and complaining about all of the "weird" décor and other things that Prussia buys. The two seem to butt heads every now and then, but overall, they get along pretty well and Prussia appears to be an affectionate (but terribly irresponsible) big bro. (MyAnimeList)

America Profile

Found and raised by France and England, America eventually grows into his own person, leading him to fight for his own independence. He is quite similar in appearance with his brother, Canada, who usually ends up getting confused with him. Portrayed as pretty loud, egoistic, and obnoxious at times, he is nonetheless depicted as a kind-hearted nation who deeply cares for this friends. Oh, and he’s pretty intelligent too. True to the American Dream, the character is extremely hard-working, strong, and driven, especially when it comes to him playing the role of a hero. Apart from this, America loves eating but is fully aware of his unhealthy eating habits. One particular joke about him that really gets me is the fact that he tries to do a lot of things in order to stay healthy, such as a number of innovative, unique, yet ultimately ineffective diets.

Japan Profile

What’s particularly awesome about Hetalia is the fact that it is able to poke fun at itself. Rather than take the conventional anime path of presenting caricatures of foreigners and depicting Japan as the only sane member of the cast, Hetalia actually opted to depict every stereotype there is of Japanese culture. And it does so beautifully. With a vague speech pattern that confuses other nations and a tendency to avoid physical contact (Japan loves his personal space), as well as his own admittance that he has a weakness for 2D erotica (he collects erotic woodcuts for his own uses) and geek culture, Japan is one character that is probably the most accurate in the series, stereotype-wise. After all, what other nation is more qualified to parody Japan than Japan itself.

About Princess Mononoke

Princess Mononoke still remains my favourite Ghibli film and it offered a perfect balance of environmentalist messages alongside spiritual and traditional themes. It’s very much one of Miyazaki’s darker works with various brutal moments throughout in this battle between man and nature where there’s no real villain. There’s a huge variety of scenes to be selected here and this list could very well be transformed into “Top 10 Impressive Forest Scenes That Just So Happen To All Be Princess Mononoke”. But as an animation fan, I have to select the extraordinary debut of The Forest Spirit, animated by Makiko Futaki. As the symbol for nature itself, The Forest Spirit is a truly majestic entity, looking back at us with a human face until it goes on a rampage and becomes something as far away from “human” as possible. It was around this moment that the protagonist Ashitaka’s place in the story became clear as he works to protect both the forest as well as the humans and settle a dispute based on fear of the unknown.

Princess Mononoke Characters Profile

San Profile

San is known as Princess Mononoke, the 17-year-old girl, princess of spirits and beasts. When San was a baby, her parents, along with some other travelers, were attacked by the wolf goddess Moro. Her parents threw San to Moro as a sacrifice to save their own lives, thus escaping while Moro was preoccupied with San. However, San was spared; Moro did not eat her, instead raising San as her own daughter. San treats Moro as her mother and her two natural pups as brothers. San rejects her own humanity, thinking of herself as a wolf. Possibly because of her past, San hates humans with a great ferocity, even more so than Moro. She wears a coat made of wolf hide, and carries a dagger made from the tooth of a wolf. San cares very much for the forest she lives in and the animals she lives with. San is very agile, able to dodge arrows, darts, and even ishibiya shots. She, like the Mountain Spirits, wants to destroy the humans so that they will stop taking away all their land. She personally wants to kill Eboshi, the leader of Irontown.

Ashitaka Profile

A prince of the Emishi tribe, Ashitaka is cursed in combat with a demonic boar. His only hope for a cure is to return to the forested land from which the boar-god originally came and discover what rage infected it. Leaving his people behind forever, he makes that journey and discovers the gods of the forest at war with the humans in a iron-mining town. Ashitaka vows to help the two sides reach a compromise, to cure them of the very anger that now eats away at him. The key to compromise appears to lie with a mysterious human girl who lives amongst the gods.

Kodama Profile

Tree spirits, whose appearance is a sign of a healthy forest. They are portrayed as small, white humanoids with large, rattling heads and mask-like features. They appear to protect the forest, but also lead Ashitaka out of the forest of the Forest Spirit with two wounded Irontown workers. They are said to bring good luck.

Shishigami Profile

Shishigami is the ancient spirit of the forest. During the day, Shishigami resembles a great stag with many antlers, bird-like feet, and the face of a baboon. At sunset, Shishigami becomes Daidarabocchi, a huge god in a humanoid form that appears to be made out of stars with a long pointed face and tentacle-like spikes on the back. Shishigami is protected by the Wolf Clan. As he walks, flowers bloom up at his feet though they quickly wither and die. He is capable of both giving life and taking life away.

About Drifters

In the year 1600, the decisive Battle of Sekigahara took place. In Satsuma Prefecture, Shimazu family military commander Toyohisa Shimazu had managed to escape death after risking his life in the battle to retreat, and was wondering around in the mountains. In the middle of the pouring rain, he ends up in a corridor-like room with endless doors. There Toyohisa ends up being sent through a stone door to the other side, without even having the chance to question the mysterious man Murasaki. This is a world ruled by the Kingdom Orte, another world where humans and demi-humans live. Along with war heroes Nobunaga Oda and Yoichi Nasu No who have drifted here from another time, with his unwavering samurai ideology Toyohisa rushes to this new world’s battlefield!

Nobunaga Oda Profile

The Daimyo of Owari Province during the warring states period. Nobunaga Saki no Ufu Oda. Has an incredible eye for war tactics. Declaring he would unify the nation by force, he used the a large number of the newest weapons, firearms, and aimed to unify Japan. Just as he was about to fulfill his goal, he was betrayed by one of his underlings Akechi Mitsuhide, and died in battle at Honnouji. Even in the other world he retains this ambition, and makes use of Toyohisa and the others both for battle and their resourcefulness.

Yoichi Nasu No Profile

A Minamoto clan military commander from the end of the Heian Period. Yoichi Suketaka Nasu. The youngest of eleven siblings. Fought in the Genpei War alongside Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Has extraordinary skills with a bow and arrow, and managed to shoot through a folding fan that was swaying in the waves during the Battle of Yashima. After being sent to a different world, he teams up with Nobunaga turns an abandoned castle into their base. He’s so beautiful he is always mistaken for a woman.

Toshihisa Shimazu Profile

A military commander from the Satsuma Prefecture in the warring states period. Toyohisa Nakatsukasa Shouyuu Shimazu. Participated in the Battle of Sekigahara as part of the western fleet. In the midst of the retreat, he stood in the way of enemies who were pursuing his uncle, prepared to die in battle. While wandering around having escaped his death, he is sent to another world by Murasaki. Has an incredible sense for battle and a daring and determined personality that means he is willing to risk his life in order to attack. A chivalrous character that will do anything in his power to pay back the favours he owes.

He is a master of parkour, and also quite skilled with his flickblade (the blade he uses must be slightly opened before the mechanics of it springs opens the blade—a switchblade will open on its own after the user presses a switch) as he is implied to be the only one capable of leaving numerous cuts in Shizuo's bartender suit after a fight in the novels. In the anime, he shaves a gang member's head bald without him noticing it. He is also fluent in Russian, which is exhibited in the final episode and episode 13 when he speaks with Simon. Izaya has two younger sisters, Mairu and Kururi, who are twins and troublemakers. He claims to have grown up in a normal family whose only abnormal trait was their naming habits. He does not like his sisters and finds them to be unlovable, saying that if even he can not like them, he expects no one else to ever be able to either. His name comes from a combination of the biblical Isaiah and Japanese for "the one who looks over the crowd." In the novels, Shinra is the only person that Izaya doesn't consider as one of his "humans." Rather, Izaya considers Shinra as his only friend (which is rather rare). Though it was hinted that he also cares for Saki, despite his manipulation towards her. It was stated that he was like her guardian. Shizuo Heiwajima Profile

A man who is always seen to wear sunglasses and a bartender's suit. Although quiet and nondescript while not angered, he has a very short fuse and fights with incredible strength. Despite his simple and unrefined fighting skills, he is often considered the strongest fighter in the series. In the novels his power is described as the naturally unlimited form of human strength and likened to "adrenaline power" that can give people superhuman strength in times of emergency. In addition, Shizuo is capable of often superhuman parkour moves, a skill he obtained naturally from years of hunting down Izaya Orihara. Shizuo works as a bodyguard for a debt collector in Ikebukuro and carries intense animosity towards Izaya. He has a younger brother, Kasuka, who is a top idol under the showbiz name of Hanejima Yūhei. He is also a long-time acquaintance of Celty. (Source:MyAnimeList)

Masaomi Kida Profile

Kida is Mikado Ryuugamine's childhood friend and resident of Ikebukuro. Kida is an easy-going guy and appears foolhardy at times. He is 15 years old and is in class 1-B. Mikado says that Kida used to be very energetic in elementary school and describes him as being quite charismatic. Kida seems to know many of the residents of Ikebukuro and he functions as a guide to Mikado. He enjoys flirting with older girls and women although his passes usually aren't taken very well. Celty Sturluson Profile

Also known as "The Black Rider" or "The Headless Rider", she is a Dullahan from Ireland who came to Japan looking for her stolen head. Her motorcycle is actually a horse in disguise. She has no heart and perceives surroundings via unknown sensors that are not located on the head. The physical strength she possesses is above human, though not quite on par with Shizuo Heiwajima. She is also capable of manipulating a shadow-like, durable substance to form objects ranging from gloves to chariots at her will. Celty lives with Shinra Kishitani and works as an underground porter. She wears a helmet when she goes out and communicates via a PDA. She enjoys online chatting, television and DVDs. She is one of the minority who knows the creator of the Dollars. She seems to have feelings for Shinra, but she herself is unsure if it is really love. She tends to get mad when Shinra says she does not need her head. Anri Sonohara Profile

A bespectacled girl who attends the same school as Mikado and Masaomi. She is rather quiet and timid, but seems very close towards Kida and Mikado. Mikado Ryuugamine Profile

The primary male protagonist of the series, Mikado Ryugamine is a high school boy who moved to Ikebukuro with the encouragement of his best friend Masaomi in order to search for unusual beings and adventure. The main character of the series, called Serena in the English dub (nicknamed Bunny in the manga). Usagi is a carefree schoolgirl with an enormous capacity for love, and transforms into the heroine called Sailor Moon. At the beginning of the series she is portrayed as an immature crybaby who hates having to fight, however over the course of the series you come to know her sweet and selfless side. Usagi is a bit selfish, very lazy, clumsy, and also an academic underachiever. She's also not very good at cooking. However, she cares deeply about her friends and family. Usagi is very trusting, and believes that everyone has a better nature. She doesn't believe in killing innocent people, even when they had been transformed into vicious monsters, and always seeks ways to help them instead. Sailor Cosmos Profile

Sailor Cosmos was a character who played an important part in the Stars arc of the Sailor Moon manga, where she was revealed to be the true form of Chibi Chibi (who had very different origins in the anime). After Sailor Galaxia's death, Chibi Chibi revealed to Sailor Moon that her true form was in fact Sailor Cosmos. Her future, as told to the Sailor Quartet, was not a hopeful one - Sailor Chaos waged war against the universe, and everything and everyone Sailor Cosmos knew was destroyed to the point where nothing could be salvaged even if the war ended. Upset, scared, and unable to do anything, Sailor Cosmos ran away from her future, opting to go into the past to destroy Chaos before it achieved its terrible Senshi form. To destroy Chaos, she decided that she also had to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, and so in the form of Chibi Chibi she tried to guide her past self, Eternal Sailor Moon, towards that end. Even though Eternal Sailor Moon was determined to save the Cauldron and chose a different path, she nevertheless inspired hope in Sailor Cosmos with her power and courage. She stated that the Eternal Sailor Moon who had saved the galaxy was, in fact, the true form of Sailor Cosmos, and that once she had that same courage and strength, only then would she truly be Sailor Cosmos. What happened to Sailor Cosmos after she sent the Sailor Quartet to the future in Act 52 was not specifically stated. She said that she would return to her own future, inspired by Sailor Moon's strength, and that she would resume her fight in order to reclaim the mantle that she lost with her cowardice. Sailor Cosmos' nature was not entirely clear, and her appearances in Act 51 and Act 52 brought forth more questions than answers. It was stated by Sailor Ceres that she was the ultimate future form of Sailor Moon, but it was unclear whether Sailor Cosmos was the future self of the current Sailor Moon (thus making her the next incarnation after Neo-Queen Serenity), a reincarnation of the current Sailor Moon, a descendant of the current Sailor Moon, or even Sailor Moon from an alternate future. Chibiusa / Black Lady Profile

Chibiusa's real name is actually Usagi, but she is nicknamed Chibiusa to distinguish her from Usagi. She is usually very upbeat, extroverted and outgoing. Though she started out socially awkward, she quickly became popular with her classmates in the 20th-century. Chibiusa's dream is to one day become a real lady, to have her own prince, and to be friends with everyone she knows. Meanwhile, she is a fairly ordinary little girl; she likes pink and red, pudding, pancakes, and rabbits. Her favorite school subject is drawing, while her least favorites are language classes. Chiba Mamoru / Tuxedo Mask Profile

Mamoru Chiba is the major romantic interest of Usagi Tsukino. He is often portrayed as stoic, steady and introverted. This may be because when he was young his parents died in a car crash. This blocked his childhood memories of his current lifetime and opened up the memories of his previous life as Prince Endymion. Tuxedo Mask is a disguise Mamoru created for himself in order to hunt for the Silver Crystal incognito and, later, assist the Sailor Senshi in battle. He is always addressed as Mamo-chan by Usagi throughout the series (Chibiusa also addresses him with this nickname later on). After dating for two years, Mamoru gives Usagi an engagement ring at an airport. The couple eventually gets married. In the future, they become king and queen of Earth and Crystal Tokyo and have a child together whom they name, Small Lady, but is in the majority of the series known as Chibiusa. The manga develops Mamoru more extensively, showing that the car crash happened on his birthday and gives a glimpse of his parents. He also is given the power of psychometry, which also showed up in the anime, but was not given a name. This manifests in his ability to see and read dreams (such as Chibiusa's), heal people and monitor the status of the Earth. The anime tends not to develop Mamoru as much, however, he is shown to be more social than his manga counterpart. He's interested in a variety of subjects and is shown as smart. Tenou Haruka / Sailor Uranus Profile

Haruka is a stubborn, protective individual, but is also strong-willed, capable, charming, and occasionally even doting. She is formally introduced in the third story arc, although she appears in silhouette alongside Sailor Neptune in the final episode of Sailor Moon R. When transformed, she is known as Sailor Uranus, and is part of the group known in Fanon as the Outer Senshi. Haruka is a racecar driver, even though she is barely sixteen years old when she appears. Kaio Michiru / Sailor Neptune Profile

Introduced in the third story arc, Michiru fights alongside her partner and lover Haruka in defending the Solar System from outside threats. In both versions of the story, she is elegant, sophisticated, capable of sharp anger, and sometimes cold. She is fully dedicated to her duty as a Senshi. Her Senshi alter-ego is Sailor Neptune, one of the "four soldiers of the outer solar system". As Sailor Neptune, her element of influence is the sea(not with water in general as Sailor Mercury's powers are); as with many of the other Senshi, this element is closely associated with her planet, which is named for the Roman sea god, Neptune. She is one of the Senshi who has natural psychic powers, alerting her when danger is near. She seems to be a character with a very deep understanding of things, sometimes even surpassing the other Outer Senshi due to her unnaturally high psychic endowments. Tomoe Hotaru / Sailor Saturn Profile

With people who do not know or understand her well, Hotaru is extremely shy and socially awkward, due to her powers and intelligence, but only at first. With her close friends and family she is a sweet, gentle, young woman with a great warmth and spirit. She tends to be independent, having been alone and taking care of herself for quite some time. Hotaru grew up very much alone, sick, and an outcast, shunned by her classmates who were frightened of her. It was not until she met Chibi-Usa that she at last had a true friend. Meio Setsuna / Sailor Pluto Profile

Sailor Pluto first appears as a Senshi in the second major story arc, and her civilian form is not shown until the third. She is unique among all the characters in that she is stationed at the Door of Space-Time, with the specific duty of forbidding anyone to pass through it without permission. She has powers that relate to both time and the underworld. Sailor Pluto is not introduced until late in the Sailor Moon R series. She is the soldier who guards the gates of time. She is first seen contacting Chibiusa through Luna-P. Sailor Pluto refers to Chibiusa as "Small Lady." Chibiusa usually calls Sailor Pluto by the nickname "Puu". She acts as Chibiusa's guardian. After the events of the second story arc, she leaves the gates of time to temporarily live as a human being, joins the rest of the Outer Senshi, and becomes a university student studying physics. The exact nature of how she leaves her post differs between versions; in the manga, she is reincarnated in present day by Neo-Queen Serenity after sacrificing herself during the second arc, while in the anime Neo-Queen Serenity allows her to leave. Even in her civilian form, Setsuna is the oldest of the Sailor Team, around her late teens or older. Her personality has been described as distant and somewhat lonely, however she does consistently display warmth and affection toward Chibiusa. When she reincarnates, she becomes more friendly, but is still not very emotional, although there are moments in the manga where she expresses much more emotion than the anime. She later cares for Hotaru along with Michiru and Haruka. Unlike the other Senshi, it is questioned whether she is fully human—she has been described as "a goddess, eternally guarding the Portal of Space and Time." Sailor Pluto's precise abilities and knowledge of the past and present are only vaguely defined, although a common theory is a form of omniscience, possibly due to her portrayal in the anime. For example, she was presumably aware of the two sailor soldiers carrying the mystical objects they were hunting for, but did not inform them and allowed various people to be attacked. (This differs greatly from the manga, and may be a simple continuity error.) This omniscience is represented as being able to watch through the gates of time, and such. Sailor Pluto appears in just a few TV episodes. Unlike Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus, she is sympathetic toward the Guardian Senshi, and assists them on several occasions. During the second story arc, she allows them to travel through time even though this is not ordinarily allowed. In the third story arc, she often extends help or advice to Sailor Moon and her companions even when Sailors Uranus and Neptune want the two groups separate. Later, Setsuna joins the Guardian Senshi in investigating the true identity of ChibiChibi. In the manga, she is an inspiration to Ami, and her relationship with Ami gives Sailor Mercury additional strength to power-up to her Super form. Sailor Pluto has additional, less cited influences and spheres of dominion in her manga incarnation, influences that are vaguely suggested in the anime, but never made explicit. Sailor Pluto is much darker in her initial form in the manga, identified as the "Guardian of the Underworld" with very dark skin and a black sailor uniform. She is also stated to be the daughter of Chronos, god of time. She is a ruthless soldier who follows rather exacting laws, executing any intruders who dare violate the underworld in search for the Gates of Time. She nearly kills Sailor Moon before realizing who she is, stating that "all who break the taboo must be eliminated". Luna also states to the others that no one is to even know that she (Sailor Pluto) exists, due to her dominion and nature, and that to her knowledge no one has ever seen her. About Psycho-Pass

Psycho-Pass takes place in the near future where people live their lives under a system that judges others for their crimes. This is based on measuring the quality of a persons state of mind and personality by monitoring their emotions, desires, and so forth. This kind of information is recorded and processed by the Sibyl System that determines the well being of an individual who poses a threat to society known as, Psycho-Pass. And those who are tasked with handling such threats from individuals whose crime coefficient exceeded a certain level are called Enforcers. Depending on your coefficient level, some are pursued, apprehended, and killed on the spot if necessary.

Shinya Kougami Profile

Kougami is an Unit 1 enforcement officer for the Public Safety Bureau of latent criminals, who is tasked with managing crime in the city. He used to be an Inspector in the past, but that all changed due to an unfortunate event that caused his coefficient level to rise having him apprehended. However, because of his skills as a detective, he was granted release under conditions that he works as an enforcer. He becomes the lead investigator during the series main plot due to his grudge with the main antagonist, Makishima.

Shougo Makishima Profile

Makishima is a natural, manipulative anarchist and is matched by his combat skills. He's an humanist who is obsessed with cruelty, savagery, and is fond of all of human natures worst aspects. Having a tendency to quote famous literature he adores, most of the major crimes Public Safety Bureau has dealt with has been a direct cause from Makishima. And it all began with Kougami, and that one fateful night that would change his life forever.

Akane Tsunemori Profile

Akane is a newly assigned Inspector for Public Safety Bureau Unit 1, and is considered a straightedge modeled citizen because of her excellent investigative skills and calm demeanor. Akane has acquired this position for her high scores in the exams at several public sectors and private corporations of employment. She chose to be a police woman because no one in the force had received a score as high as hers, and that makes her believe she can contribute in ways no one else can. Little did she know, her actions would have consequences.

Nobuchika Ginoza Profile

A veteran Inspector working with Akane. He coordinates all the Enforcers in Unit 1. An old friend of Shinya's, his hatred for those with high Crime Coefficients and his zeal to oust them from society came from the inability to stop his former partner from becoming a latent criminal. Although he still has a certain degree of trust with Shinya, he holds a dislike for Shinya's Enforcer partner, Masaoka, for unknown reasons. Shuusei is the jokester of the group and likes to make fun of people on a regular basis. He enjoys portable video games and spends most of his free time playing them. However, he is more serious when he's on the job. About Inuyasha

Higurashi Kagome, after being pulled down a well by a demon, finds herself in Feudal Japan, where she learns that a powerful jewel has been reborn inside her body. Inuyasha Profile

The male protagonist, a hybrid of a youkai-dog and a human, a half-demon ("han'yo" in Japanese). He wields the Tessaiga (pronounced "Tetsaiga" in the American dub), a supernatural sword made from one of his deceased father's fangs. This sword, when properly wielded, can destroy one hundred demons with a single swing, and has further powers which are revealed as the story progresses. It is also a source of which hatred exists between Inuyasha and his brother Sesshomaru, a full youkai dog demon, being that Inuyasha can wield the Tessaiga and Sesshomaru can not. Inuyasha has a tendency for massive regeneration and can recover from injuries which would be fatal for any average human. This ability is likely derived from his youkai powers (Example: Episode 5, when Kagome brings medicine from her time). On the night of the new moon each month, Inuyasha will change into a normal human with black hair, brown eyes, and loses his yokai power during this time. Prior to meeting his current companions, he would conceal himself during this time. Inuyasha loves Kikyo, and still does, but things get complicated when he starts to develop feelings of love for Kagome. He has mastered different abilities for his sword including the red tessaiga that can destroy barriers and also learning the backlash wave which hurls an opponents demonic energy right back at it. Kagome Higurashi Profile

The female protagonist and a third year middle school student. In the tradition of many Rumiko Takahashi heroines (Lum, Akane Tendo, Kyoko Otonashi), Kagome can be extremely sweet, but can also become very dangerous when provoked. She is bold and determined to help others regardless of the cost. It is because of her that Inuyasha is able to make more friends. Her kind heart and beauty results in several men falling in love with her throughout their journey. InuYasha wears a special bead necklace (known as the Beads of Subjugation) which only responds to Kagome's command: when she yells "Sit!" ("Osuwari!") (Often "Sit, boy!" in the dub) InuYasha is thrown to the ground. The necklace was placed upon him due to his dangerous attitude when he was unsealed. As the series continues, Kagome uses the necklace less and less. It is scarcely used by this point in time, and is purely comedic relief when it is. She is the reincarnation of a priestess 50 years ago, named Kikyo, the previous protector of the shikon no tama. As fate would have it, Kagome also develops feelings of strong love for InuYasha. This relationship proves to be a driving point of the series. Her archery and spiritual powers develop as the series progresses. By the end of the series, Kagome is a powerful miko with superb archery skills and control over her spiritual powers. Sesshomaru Profile

Inuyasha's older half-brother. Unlike Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru is a full-blooded dog-demon and is contemptuous of InuYasha for being a half-demon and for consorting with humans. He is a very powerful demon who seems to have no true equal when it comes to raw power; although given the chance in volume twenty-three, he could not defeat Naraku. Although fandom refers to him as the Lord of the Western Lands, this title appears at no point in the manga. Takahashi also stated that Sesshoumaru has no permanent home. Unlike almost every other demon in the world of InuYasha, he has no interest in possessing even one shard of the Shikon Jewel Sesshoumaru first appears in search of the sword called Tessaiga, created from their father Inu-no-Taisho's fang, which has the power to kill a hundred yōkai with one swing. However, Inu-no-Taisho left Tessaiga to Inuyasha, and Sesshoumaru instead inherited the Tenseiga, a sword which cannot harm the living, but can bring the dead back to life. Inu-no-Taisho did this in the hopes that Sesshoumaru would learn compassion. Considering Tenseiga useless to him, Sesshoumaru battles Inuyasha several times for possession of Tessaiga, and when Tessaiga is broken by a bite from Naraku's incarnation Goshinki, Sesshoumaru has Goshinki's fangs forged into the evil blade Tokijin, which only he is powerful enough to control. Initially, Sesshoumaru is ruthless and cruel in his pursuit of Tessaiga and his dealings with his brother. Despite having a hatred for humans, he seems to care for Rin, a little human girl who was orphaned after her village was destroyed by demons. Rin found Sesshomaru in the woods by the village she lived in, and noticed that he was injured (due to a previous fight with Inuyasha) and she tried to help him. Sesshomaru refused her help, but after finding her body nearly devoured by Koga's wolves later on, he used Tenseiga to bring her back to life. A shrine maiden who loved InuYasha and was killed by Naraku (disguised as Inuyasha) who made the two fight fifty years prior (in InuYasha's time) to the story's start. Kagura Profile

Kagura (lit. Music of the gods) is a wind sorceress created from Naraku's own body. Despite this, she has her own mind and is willing to fight desperately for freedom. Her first appearance involves Kagura's use of the "Shikabane Mai," or "Dance of the Dead," to lure out Koga's companions and slaughter them. Following this, she splattered Inuyasha in the blood, causing Koga to arrive to "avenge his companions." Unbeknownst to Koga, he has a false Shikon no Tama shard rather than the real one-and upon severly injuring Inuyasha, he is immobilized by Kagura's fake. Assured that she has won the battle, Kagura steps forward to take the real shikon shards as well as Koga's life. This is interrupted by Inuyasha, who proceeds to fight Kagura and is on the verge of being killed when he is finally able to interrupt Kagura's winds to unleash a Kaze no Kizu. Surprised, Kagura flees, briefly showing a spider-shaped burn scar on her back similar to Naraku's. She realizes that Naraku has been using her and proceeds to attack him, being stopped when he squeezes her heart and tells him that he holds her life in his hands. Shippou Profile

An orphaned young yōkai-fox (kitsune) whose father was killed by the Thunder Brothers, Hiten and Manten. He wanted to avenge his father so he helped Kagome and Inuyasha. He was the first character in the story to join InuYasha and Kagome in their travels as a group. Shippo can shape shift, but his forms are temporary, often incomplete and ineffective, and he is usually given away by his telltale tail. His other noteworthy abilities are turning into a wooden horse that can fly, leaving a trail of yelping mushrooms and acorns, illusionary tricks with toys like his giant spinning top attack, using his race's notable fox fire magic (which rarely seems to work properly), and making things like leaves or himself multiply. He tends to be naively observant and often makes pointed and cheeky comments directed towards InuYasha, earning him a retaliatory bonk on the head for his unnecessary "advice". InuYasha and Kagome serve as older sibling figures to Shippo. Shippo and Kirara (when she is in her kitten form) are the smallest members of InuYasha's group, with Shippo being the youngest. Because he so small and light, whenever the group is traveling anywhere Shippo is almost always seen riding on someone's shoulder, on Kirara's back, in Kagome's arms, or in the basket on Kagome's bike; he is rarely seen walking or running. Sango Profile

Sango is youkai slayer ("youkai taijiya") who hails from a village of professional yōkai slayers. The only member of Inuyasha's group to have no supernatural powers, Sango instead wields the Hiraikotsu, a massive boomerang made of yōkai bones, in addition to a broad repertoire of tools and tricks for battling yōkai. Sango is also a victim of Naraku's evil schemes; her family was killed and her entire village destroyed by Naraku's yōkai so that Naraku could then blame Inuyasha and manipulate Sango into trying to kill him. When that ploy failed, Naraku used a shard of the Shikon Jewel to revive and control her little brother Kohaku, forcing him to fight Inuyasha and company, and using him as a means by which to manipulate Sango. She seeks vengeance against Naraku, but her primary goal is to rescue Kohaku from Naraku's influence and somehow save his life, although currently it's uncertain if she will be able to do so as Kohaku's life is tied to the jewel shard. Jakotsu Profile

The openly homosexual and sadistic wielder of a sneaky, retractable sword named "Jakotsutō", Jakotsu (蛇骨) is one of the more skilled fighters of the Shichi'nintai and was placed third in command. He seems to be the first of the Shichinintai to have come into contact with Bankotsu and was with him before the Shichinintai were assembled as a group. Bankotsu and Jakotsu are very close and according to Bankotsu, Jakotsu is the only person he trusts. Upon hearing of InuYasha of news by Kohaku, Jakotsu immediately develops a bloodthirstly and slightly sexual fascination with him. He spends the majority of the arc trying to find, battle, and kill him. After meeting InuYasha, Jakotsu is frequently swooning and petulantly protesting when he is denied confrontation. He also flies into a rage when Sango interferes in his first conflict with InuYasha, and at one moment Jakotsu openly says he finds Miroku good-looking too. Jakotsu always looks for an opportunity to fight against InuYasha. He finally gets a chance inside Mount Hakurei when InuYasha is reverted to his human form by the holy barrier. After a lengthy fight, Jakotsu loses to InuYasha (who has turned back in to a hanyō, due to the weakened barrier), who spares his life. Jakotsu happily accepted his fate that he died after fighting the battle he wanted, but could have survived if the Shikon shard embedded in his neck wasn't taken by the scheming Renkotsu, an action later avenged by Bankotsu. Kouga Profile

The young leader of a yōrōzoku (yōkai-wolf tribe), Kōga wishes to avenge his fallen comrades who were slaughtered by Kagura, one of Naraku's minions. While brash and arrogant, he is shrewd enough to run from a fight if he thinks he can't win. He has a shikon shard in each of his legs which make him stronger and faster. Although he bickers with InuYasha constantly, when one of them is in danger, the other will lend a hand. He considers Kagome his woman, which irritates InuYasha to no end. Koga constantly confesses his love towards Kagome but Kagome does not share his affections, only having eyes for InuYasha. As the series goes on, Koga lets up on his affections for Kagome gradually. Eventually, in chapter 466 of the manga, he leaves her behind with the statement 'if InuYasha ever starts getting on your nerves, you can come to me.' ("Koga" means "steel fang.") About Ouran High School Host Club

Fujioka Haruhi wins a scholarship to attend Ouran Academy, a school reserved for only the most rich and prestigious. Despite what other students may think of her, she cares little for physical appearances or the fact that she is a commoner. Unfortunately for Haruhi, her high school days take a sudden turn when she stumbles upon the Host Club, an elite club filled with super rich and beautiful boys who use their specific traits and charms to entertain young ladies. Even worse, Haruhi accidentally breaks an 8-million yen vase in the club. Haruhi Fujioka, the main heroine of the story, is an intelligent freshman attending the prestigious and expensive Ouran High School. She cut her hair short because of a little boy who got gum stuck in it, but this action caused the Host club to mistake her for guy. However, unlike the other students, she is from a commoner family and got into Ouran through a scholarship. On her first day at school, she accidentally breaks a vase worth 8 million yen belonging to the Host Club. As a result, she is forced to work as a host to pay off her debt, and does so by disguising herself as a boy. Soon enough, she naturally takes to acting as a host to other girls, and even finds it enjoyable. However, she does not like to take time away from studying and often finds the antics of the other hosts to be annoying. Haruhi lives with her okama (cross dressing) father. As a result of her mother passing away when she was young, Haruhi has become very independent and never lets anyone worry about her. Although seemingly unflappable, she has a fear of thunderstorms. Tamaki Suou Profile

Tamaki Suou is the founder and president of the Ouran High School Host Club. He is the antithesis to his best friend, Kyoya Ootori. While Kyoya is calm, cool, and calculating, Tamaki is flamboyant, emotional, and narcissistic; however, he is extremely dedicated to his duties as a host. He is the "prince" host type, who can charm any girl with sweet talk—yet he is always truthful in his compliments. To him, all girls are pretty, and the happiness of his guest is his greatest enjoyment. Tamaki acts as the main comic relief in the series, exemplified in his extremely dense and naïve approach to his own feelings, and extreme emotional reactions to Haruhi's comments about his stupidity. He has a family complex, as he asks Haruhi to call him "Daddy" and refers to Kyoya as "Mommy." Mitsukuni Haninozuka Profile

Mitsukuni Haninozuka (a.k.a. Honey-senpai) is a cake-loving, childish senior with an elementary school appearance. He attracts customers with his "shotacon" cuteness—however, he is also extremely talented at fighting. He can send people flying with one kick, and has been told by the Japanese Defense Minister to never show his full power for fear of other countries thinking Japan had a weapon of mass destruction. He learned his skills from his father, the owner of a famous dojo. Because of him, Honey tried to act like a "real man" for some time, but after Tamaki convinced him that liking cute things was not bad, Honey dropped his façade and joined the host club along with Mori, his cousin and the person he is often seen around with. Honey carries a stuffed bunny named "Bun-bun" (in Japanese, it is called "Usa-chan," an abbreviation of usagi, meaning rabbit) that his beloved grandmother made for him. Kyouya Ootori Profile

Kyouya Ootori, a second year student at Ouran Gakuen, is the sly and calculating vice-president of the Host Club founded by his best friend and polar opposite, Tamaki Suoh. Despite Tamaki being president, Kyouya truly runs the club and plays the role of a puppet-master behind the scenes, earning him the nickname "Shadow King." He takes care of the Host Club's expenses and will even sell items belonging to the host club members (such as Haruhi's pencil) for profit. In his words, "use whatever is at hand, be it friend or foe." Almost everything he does is for his own benefit, but he can occasionally display a selfless side. He is the third son of his very wealthy and influential family; thus, if he wants to take over his family's business, he must work extremely hard to meet his strict father's high expectations. Takashi Morinozuka Profile

Takashi Morinozuka (a.k.a. Mori-sempai) is a tall, stoic, but kind upperclassman who is Honey-senpai's constant companion. The Morinozuka family had protected and served the Haninozuka family for many generations but marriage joined the families two generations ago, breaking the master-servant tradition. Despite that, Mori still faithfully protects Honey and attends to his wishes. His protectiveness extends to his classmates and fellow host club members, gaining him a certain level of respect. He does not talk very much and is considered the "wild" ("strong and silent" in the dub) type. However, when he is tired, he becomes uncharacteristically talkative and flirtatious. About Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online takes place in the near future where Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (VRMMORPG) are the thing to experience. Sword Art Online is the newest game to feature such experiences where players can control their lives with avatars through brain waves. By using a head gear called NerveGear, players can enter the virtual world and live a different life from reality. What they didn't know, is when they entered into the Sword Art Online mainframe, they soon are greeted by the creator of the program and are told they could never leave. Being held captive and not able to log out, the only way to escape is to beat the game by defeating the main boss on the 100th level. There's just one catch, if you die in SAO, you die in real life. This begin the struggle of survival for all those trapped in the game.

Asuna Yuuki Profile

Asuna is one of the first friends Kirito makes in SAO, even though he doesn't see her that often, she has made herself very well-known in the SAO world. As a sub-leader in one of the most recognizable and strongest guilds, she is known in the game as Flash, because of her extraordinary skills as a swordsman with lightning fast strikes to kill her opponents. Her relationship with Kirito is one of few that actually extend out of the SAO world.

Kazuto Kirigaya Profile

Kirito is the main protagonist of Sword Art Online. He was first introduced as a solo player who actually was one of the few players to play the beta of SAO when it was first announced. In the real world, he lives with his aunt and sister, but in SAO, he is a very skillful individual that is a walking asset in the virtual world. He is hated by many as a beta tester for his knowledge of the games world and not really helping others. But when he did, they unexpectedly die in a freak accident, causing him to keep his distance even further away from others. Although, he develops a relationship with Asuna, the first girl he truly helped and has become a skillful individual herself. Together, they make a life for themselves that almost makes them loose their grasp of reality.

Leafa,Suguha Kirigaya Profile

Suguha is Kazuto's adoptive sister in the real world, although later revelaed to be his cousin. She is an accomplished kendo practitioner, having practiced for 8 years, following her grandfather's wishes. In ALO her avatar name is Leafa.(Source:MyAnimeList)

Lisbeth Profile

A mace wielder that runs a blacksmith shop in Aincrad on the 48th floor. She made Asuna's rapier "Lament Light" and one day got a request from Kirito to make him a sword with similar or better quality than his one handed long sword "Elucidator" that he got from a monster drop. She told him that if she had the right materials she could make weapons that would break any sword, so they formed a party and went on a journey to find the material she needed. Because of that journey she came to the conclusion that she felt lonely and yearned for warmth. In ALO, she is Leprechaun race blacksmith.(Source:MyAnimeList)

Silica Profile

She is 13 years old and a middle level dagger user. She is a very cheerful and sweet girl. She is one of the very rare "Beast Tamers" in SAO. She has a very rare familiar a "feathery dragon" that she named Pina after her cat in the real world. She treasured Pina a lot and was the reason she survived in the game. Aside from being a female player, she is also a Beast Tamer and thus perceived as an idol amongst the middle level players. She received endless invitations from parties and guilds who wanted an idol player to join them to get more fame. Because of the attention she got, she became overly proud of herself and left a party one time after a misunderstanding. She got surrounded by monsters and lost Pina in the end. About Deadman Wonderland

Ganta is the only survivor after a mysterious man in red slaughters a classroom full of teenagers. He's framed for the carnage, sentenced to die, and locked away in the most twisted prison ever built: Deadman Wonderland. And then it gets worse. At Deadman Wonderland, convicts are forced into brutal deathmatches for the amusement of the masses, the cheers of the crowd drowning out the screams of the dismembered. Even when Ganta befriends Shiro, an unusual female inmate, his dark fate crushes all hope—until he discovers the strange ability to wield his spilled blood as a weapon. Ganta learns his new skill might be related to the murderous man in red and uncovers disturbing secrets that could expose those who stole his freedom. He's determined to see justice served—but first he'll have to fight for his life in a prison that holds a million ways to die.

Deadman Wonderland Characters Profile

Shiro Profile

A mysterious albino girl that Ganta encountered during his first days as an inmate. Clothed only in a skin-tight bodysuit and muffly gloves, which conceals her heavily scarred skin, Shiro stands out among the other prisoners due to her bizarre appearance and mannerisms. To Ganta, Shiro's manner of speaking and acting remind him of a small child, even though Shiro is the same age as him. However, Shiro possesses inhuman physical abilities and has an intimate knowledge of the prison, having apparently lived there most of her life. From the beginning of the story it is made clear that, as children, Shiro and Ganta were close friends. Ganta, however, has no memories of his childhood, which greatly saddens and annoys Shiro.

Toto Sekigami (Mockingbird) Profile

A mysterious Deadman feared even by Senji, Toto is a mysterious boy dressed in a way reminiscent of Shiro, and appears not only to be one of the strongest Deadmen introduced so far, but also to know in great detail about the true nature and purpose of Deadman Wonderland. His power, Love Labyrinth, allows him to copy the abilities of other Deadmen. However, he states that he recently was reset of his copied powers after his battle with the Red Man. However, even in his weakened state, he managed to take down two of the Forgeries with nothing but a copy of Crow's powers. Nicknamed Mockingbird, he freely comes and goes through the prison, and recently has become friends with Ganta. Toto is the only person to have fought the Red Man and have survived.

Takami Minatsuki (Hummingbird) Profile

Minatsuki is the younger sister of Yoh Takami, and a Deadman known as "Hummingbird" in the complex. She initially appears as a very shy, reserved little girl who cannot stand violence and her horrible past. Minatsuki soon shows that it is a ruse to lure opponents into a false sense of security. She is actually very sadistic, deriving sexual pleasure from seeing the pained looks on her victim's faces. She especially likes the look of her brother blaming himself for their father's death, though he does know the real truth. After losing to Ganta, she reconciles somewhat with both Yoh and Ganta, but still lashes out at them frequently. Her Branch of Sin is called "Whip Wing", which uses blood from her ears to create whips that can quickly strike and restrain the target.

Ganta Igarashi Profile

The main protagonist of the story. Ganta is a seemingly harmless, ordinary middle school boy who is framed for the slaughter of his entire middle school class, perpetrated by the mysterious Red Man. Sentenced to "death," he is sent to Deadman Wonderland, where he is initially confused and frightened by the brutality of the prison. Shortly after arriving, Ganta discovers he can manipulate his blood and, thus, is deemed a Deadman, a bearer of a Branch of Sin—a power that can turn blood into a lethal weapon.

Senji Kiyomasa (Crow) Profile

Senji was the first "Deadman" that Ganta encountered at the prison. After making their way to sector G, Crow destroyed the Necro Macro security robot which had been chasing Ganta, Shiro and Yoh. After a small skirmish, and an interruption by Shiro, Crow was subdued by the Deadman security. The next day, Ganta and Senji were slated to be the next two Deadmen to compete in the "Carnival Corpse." Despite Senji's experience and skill with his 'branch' ability, Ganta managed to win by fooling Senji. As a consequence for losing, Senji's right eye was removed for research. He returns a short time later during Ganta's next match, sporting an eyepatch and gives Ganta assistance with figuring out his opponent's techniques. He also helps Ganta understand his own capabilities. His change in personality toward Ganta is due to his respect for Ganta's strength. Senji comments that because Ganta beat him, he is not allowed to lose until they have a rematch. He seems to thoroughly enjoy violence, and his favorite phrase is "Dead Center." Despite his wild and battle-hungry attitude, he does have a sense of honor and respects strength and determination. In an ironic twist, Senji becomes flustered and embarrassed when a woman acts immodest. When he first notices Shiro's form fitting body tights, his face becomes red and he give her his coat telling her to quickly cover up. His Branch of Sin is called "Crow Claw." It manifests as two large scythe-like blades, made of blood, extending from long cuts on his forearms. He makes these cuts using two bladed rings he wears on his thumbs. While the blades are typically two to three feet long, Senji has demonstrated the ability to greatly lengthen them allowing him to attack people at range. He is responsible for naming Ganta's 'Branch of Sin' (Ganta Gun). He also has a supersonic attack called Invisible Black. Senji used to be a policeman before his time in DW. It's hinted that he killed four friends.

Makina Profile

Senior leader of the prison's guard staff, Makina is a harsh and cold enforcer which does not hesitate in punishing, often brutally, the prison's population. Known for her demeanor and her large breasts (G cup), she is infamous for carrying a decorated sword with herself at all times, and also for using it to cut whoever breaks the prison's rules, acts that almost always result in bloodshed. Despite her brutality she is far less twisted than Tamaki, whom she is greatly suspicious of, especially after discovering that she knows and has authority over only a part of Deadman Wonderland. This fact, coupled with Tamaki's ever more sick machinations, led her to forfeit her position and hunt him down with the aid of some allies, among them the Deadmen themselves, Ganta in particular.

About Angel Beats!

Otonashi awakens only to learn he is dead. A rifle-toting girl named Yuri explains that they are in the afterlife, and Otonashi realizes the only thing he can remember about himself is his name. Yuri tells him that she leads the Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront) and wages war against a girl named Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri's claims that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi attempts to speak with her, but the encounter doesn't go as he intended. Otonashi decides to join the SSS and battle Tenshi, but he finds himself oddly drawn to her. Kanade Tachibana Profile

Tenshi has a variety of self-defense skills at her disposal, which she calls "Guard Skills." Tenshi is the nickname the SSS gives her based on Yuri's belief that she must be a representative of god. Tenshi is one of the two main female characters of the anime. Her name means "Angel," though she has stated she isn't one. The main plot of the anime revolves around her rivalry with Yuri, as Tenshi is believed to be the enemy of the Afterlife. She never admits her name as "Angel." Yuri Nakamura Profile

Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen or SSS, the rebellious faction against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. She is one of the two main protagonist of the anime. She has a strong personality. She is the main rival of Angel. (Source: MyAnimeList)

T.K. Profile

"TK" is a mysterious character. He likes to speak nonsensical English phrases, depending on the situation of the scene, even though he does not know English fluently. He saves the team many times and knows some Japanese but rarely speaks it. Regardless, he seems to understand what the others say to him. He is talented in almost anything (his forte, dancing). He is usually always dancing even while in a fight with his enemies. His real identity and his name is unknown, even to the SSS. Therefore they identify him as by a nickname he gives himself, "TK." One particular trait of his is his inability to remain still, as he is in constant movement whenever he is not doing anything at all (although at times he can be seen not in constant movement). Also, his catchphrase appears to be "I kiss you!" (Source: MyAnimeList)

Shiina Profile

Shiina is a "self-proclaimed female ninja" who fights with traditional Japanese weapons such as dual-wielding kodachi and shuriken. Shiina also wears the special uniform of the SSS, along with a long black scarf covering the bottom part of her face and her neck. Her skirt is slightly different from the usual, as it has two short slits which is probably to aid her in movement. She usually puts up a tough and quiet front, but she is extremely fond of cute things, especially stuffed animals. She is able to sense when danger is coming. She is very strict in her training and would continue with her training even when she is needed to do something else. Shiina's training mostly consist of balancing objects such as broomsticks, scissors and mops on her fingertip, sometimes balancing one on each of her fingers simultaneously while doing something else. She also usually says the phrase "how shallow-minded" when she remarks on her colleagues' actions. (Source: MyAnimeList)

Masami Iwasawa Profile

Always giving a cool look, she is a talented vocalist and plays guitar. She formed a band in the Afterlife called Girls Dead Monster with her best friend Hisako. She also writes songs and composes music for her band. It was only through conquering her insecurities that she gained her charisma and it was her passion that drove her to dedicate her life (and her afterlife) to sing meaningful, inspiring songs that would help people get through rough times as did she with Sad Machine's songs. Hideki Hinata Profile

Hinata is a bright young guy and everyone likes him for his kindness. He is very popular to new students as he has a helping attitude towards his juniors and newcomers at school. He is comedy relief in some situations and a pervert in others. He will always try to save his comrades if he can and is a reliable force in the team. Yuzuru Otonashi Profile

Otonashi lost his memory in an accident and thus thinks his life has no meaning. Things start to change for him as the story progresses. He is the main male protagonist of Angel Beats! About Toradora

Despite Ryuji Takasu's gentle personality, his eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent. Class rearrangements on his second high school year put him together with his best friend, Yusaku Kitamura, and his hidden crush, Minori Kushieda. Along with these two comes Kushieda's best friend, Taiga Aisaka. Her delicate appearance contrasts with her brutal personality. Secretly in love with Kitamura, Taiga agrees to help Ryuji with his love interest as long as he helps her get closer to hers.

Toradora Characters Profile

Taiga Aisaka Profile

Taiga is a girl in Ryuuji's class. She has a well-regulated and beautiful appearance though is unable to stomach company from others. Due to her often snapping at others in brutal ways and her short stature, she is given the nickname "Palmtop Tiger." Her under-developed body and the added nickname has given her a complex which in turn serves to give her a negative attitude and facial expression. Essentially, Taiga gets upset easily and is considerably clumsy. She is also brutally honest, typically when she is lashing out at someone. Due to her cute looks (described as a doll by Ryuuji), she often gets confessions of love by boys, but she turns down every one of them, including Yuusaku Kitamura (which she later regrets). Despite coming from a well-to-do family, her life with them is very difficult because of various problems. Her father and mother got a divorce, leaving Taiga with her father. When he remarried another woman who was significantly younger than himself, it caused misunderstandings between Taiga and her step-mother. One day it became too much for Taiga, causing her to run away from home and since then, she has taken to living on her own. Since she came from a privileged household, she does not know how to do any domestic chores. When she meets Ryuuji and learns of his domestic talents, she ends up relying on Ryuuji to clean up after her. Aside from sleeping in her own house, and going to school, she spends most of her time at Ryuuji's house; so much so that she is considered a member of his family. At the beginning of the story, she is infatuated with his best friend Yuusaku Kitamura and gets nervous every time he appears around her. Ryuuji finds out due to a misplaced empty love letter from Taiga meant for Kitamura. Ryuuji then admits to having feelings for Taiga's best friend Minori. Due to this, Taiga and Ryuuji team up to help each other get into a relationship with each other's best friend.

Minori Kushieda Profile

Minori is a girl in Ryuuji's class, and is a close friend to Taiga. She is also known by the pet name "Minorin". In contrast to the negative Taiga, Minori is always smiling and cheerful, but is also a natural airhead, though it is suggested that her airhead ways may be a facade. She is very athletic and is the captain of the girl's softball club at school, though at the same time she holds many part time jobs. She is a glutton when it comes to food, but is also constantly combating with dieting.

Ryuuji Takasu Profile

The series' main protagonist, Ryuuji is a seventeen-year-old high school student in his second year, class 2-C. Due to biological inheritance, his sanpaku eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent and causes many misunderstandings. He lives in a fatherless family with just his mother, and due to this, Ryuuji has learned to be self-sufficient. He is good at cooking and keeps everything in his house clean (to the point of obsession), and also excels at sewing. He holds a crush on Minori Kushieda, a girl in his class. He has a pet, parakeet named "Inko-chan" ("inko" literally means "parakeet" in Japanese). Ryuuji often helps Taiga with domestic chores which she is unable to perform. At school, he is known as "the only person able to stop the palmtop tiger," referring to Taiga's nickname. Due to the misunderstandings of his look, he tends to look down on himself and lacks self-confidence. Despite this, he is rather calm in most situations. He is responsible, smart and has great grades, even when compared to Yuusaku Kitamura, his best friend. He is dense when it comes to girls' feelings, especially about things between him, Taiga, Minori and Ami. His feelings and relationship to Taiga begin to change as he spends more time with her throughout the series.

Ami Kawashima Profile

Ami is Yuusaku's childhood friend who transfers into his class midway through their second year of high school. She is very beautiful and even works as a model, though after she transfers school, she temporarily stops modeling. However, she still continues to go to the gym readily and maintains a slim figure. She is always kind and generous towards others, though this is merely a deception. In truth, she is arrogant and will not hesitate to use others for her own benefit. During her first meeting with Taiga, Ami showed her true colors, but the tables were turned when Taiga threw a counterattack back at her. Since then, Ami and Taiga have been enemies, though Ami still sometimes envies Taiga since she can always be honest. It's hinted at, mostly through her childhood friend Yuusaku, that she's like this because she hasn't really known any other life than her modeling, which is part of the reason she moved to their hometown to attend school there. Which is why, through her affiliations with Taiga and Ryuuji, Ami eventually develops more of a "middle ground" personality, signified with her losing her temper and taking out her frustrations on a stalker fan. While this doesn't mean that she automatically become friends with Taiga, the two of them also meet halfway to some extent, thus running into arguments far less frequently. She can still be somewhat manipulative and mischievous, but her "gravure airhead" personality is almost entirely abandoned for a more outspoken one, and she's even helped out her newfound friends, including Taiga, on occasion. At some point, she even showed some interest in Ryuuji.

Yuusaku Kitamura Profile

Yuusaku is a male student in Ryuuji's class, and is his best friend. He is the vice-president of the student council, the class representative, and captain of the boy's softball club at school. Yuusaku wears glasses, and has a diligent personality. He thinks he is poor at talking to girls, though Ryuuji observes otherwise. During his time as the vice-president of the student council, he eventually falls in love with the student council president, Sumire Kanou. A running gag is that he will appear out of nowhere behind Taiga and Ryuuji when they are discussing a "plan of attack" to get their crushes. Like Minori, he has an unusual personality, but oftentimes it is an expression of his friendship and appreciation.
